Spugunke is a new SMP server that feels really community first. It runs Minecraft 1.21.11 and the world just started so everyone joining now gets to help shape everything from the ground up.
The server is all about player made towns and teams. People can make their own towns bases farms and huge builds or join others. Some teams can focus on pvp or exploring or gathering resources. You can still play solo if you like and it supports both competitive and relaxed styles.

I found this server called Chilltown and it feels super calm and relaxing. It is a long running survival SMP that wants a real vanilla style without all the crazy chaos.
The world has been around since 2019 and it has grown slowly over time. There are player made towns farms and different projects everywhere so it feels lived in and not like a fresh reset every week.

This server is a huge 1 to 800 scale map of Europe set in the napoleonic age. You can join an existing nation or try to build your own empire and fight for dominance across the continent.
The claiming system is based on towny style towns so you protect land and grow cities while planning wars and alliances. There are many custom plugins that are made to make the geopolitics style gameplay feel really intense and fun.
The server just released a few days ago and it runs on 1.20.1. It also has breweryX so you can make stuff like wine and beer and add more flavor to roleplay. Both Bedrock and Java players can join.

The Lab is a vanilla style SMP that just started a new season and this time it is all about skyblock. It feels like a pretty pure Minecraft experience because everything is still vanilla but they use a skyblock setup so the whole world is basically the void.
From what I saw they use some tweaks so that every resource in the game is still possible to get. So even though you start in the sky you can still work toward getting all the normal stuff over time. The focus seems to be on building up from almost nothing and creating a whole world together.

Billionaire City is a Minecraft city and economy roleplay server that is trying to change how people play. It feels like a big modern city world where money and progress actually matter.
You can manage different kinds of property like apartments houses and big companies. The way jobs work is different because they are not permanent and they are based on minigames and special job events so it does not feel boring or stuck.
