This server is called LavaNetwork and it is a new survival SMP that is still in beta. It feels mostly vanilla so it is really simple to understand and easy to get into.
There is land claiming so you can protect your base and builds. The people on the server seem friendly and the whole place has a pretty chill community vibe.
The world is still pretty fresh and not much is built yet. That actually makes it cool because you can join early and help shape how everything looks.

The Eternal Region is a vanilla plus server and it just started season three. The server is run on Fabric and the community seems pretty active and chill.
The server is for players who are 16 or older. It is a Java server and it has simple voice chat so people can talk while they play. There are player run events and a diverse community so you will probably meet lots of different people.
Season three goes back to a more classic community style with vanilla plus gameplay. There is also a free for all pvp twist in the End if you have pvp turned on. So you can choose if you want to fight or just stay peaceful.
You have to fully read the rules to get accepted and they really want people who respect the community. The head mod goes by eves and they are pretty active and helpful with questions. If you want a community server that is not too crazy but still has fun events this one feels like a good pick.

This is a 16 plus Minecraft server that is hosted in the UK and it is online all day and night so it is really good for players in the UK and Europe. Most of the people are 21 or older and they want more older players to join so it feels like a mature chill place.
The world is built around big themed areas. The players are trying to make huge immersive landscapes instead of just random bases. Right now there are six main themes. Sol is an ancient area with Aztec and Egypt style builds. Greenland is an underground theme. Extora is a mix of sci fi and magic. Latvia is a medieval themed zone. Metrovia is a modern city. There is also an Asian area with temple style builds.
There are around 20 to 25 active players and they mostly just hang out and play a lot of Minecraft. There are no land claims and no griefing is allowed and there is no PVP. They also say they do not plan to ever reset the world so you can build long term projects.
There are a few gamerule changes and some plugins but the server still feels like vanilla. There is no tp command and no home command so you have to travel normally. VoiceChatMod is required if you want to join. To get in you fill out a form and if you get accepted someone messages you on reddit usually within a day.

This server is a small hermit craft style SMP that has been running for about two months. It feels like a survival world where people like to help each other and build together.
When I joined it felt really friendly and chill. Even though the world is not brand new it does not feel like you are behind. New players can still start fresh and be part of everything.
The community seems to like working together and being active. People talk help out and make sure no one is left alone. If you want a calm survival place with nice players this server fits that really well.
