They keep exploration balanced by locking The End until October 31 so the End fight and elytras are wait gated.
There is also the main SMP plus original mini games like Skull which is PvE based and Lava Spleef which is PvP based and more are still being made.

Normal Survival is a friendly survival server where people mostly just chill and play together. It feels like a relaxed place for building exploring farming and hanging out with friends.
The server has a bunch of useful quality of life stuff like custom crafting recipes. You can take down whole trees fast with tree capitator and mine connected ores with vein miner.
You can set multiple homes so getting around is easier. You can also teleport to friends with /tpa and /tpahere.
There is a player shop system so anyone can run a shop. Voting lets you pick rewards from a voter shop.
You can pick up villagers and other non hostile mobs which makes moving them way less annoying. Keep inventory can be toggled by players.
