PurpleSMP is a small survival server that feels really simple but also pretty polished. It is focused on PVE so you can relax and build without getting hunted by random people.
The server uses mcMMO so you can level up skills while you mine and grind for resources. There is a player based economy with no set shops and no server money so all value comes from what players trade and build.
You can claim land to keep your builds safe. Every block placed or broken is logged. Your inventory is also backed up whenever you join or leave or die so staff can restore stuff if someone breaks the rules.
PvP is off by default but you can toggle it if you want to mess around with friends. There are playervaults so you get extra secure storage besides your normal inventory.
The server runs a strong anti cheat. When someone sets it off staff get alerted in Discord and the plugin reacts until a staff member can check what happened.
There is an online map that looks like a map website so you can see the world and find new areas to explore. The server is made to be long term with lots of unexplored land still out there.
Discord is required to play and the goal is to have a calm place to enjoy newer versions of Minecraft without toxic players.

This is a new nations style SMP where players fight and build their own nation. The world is a small 1024 by 1024 map so every base and every wall actually matters.
The server is whitelisted so you have to fill out a form first. They want players who are interesting and know what they are doing but still keep a chill vibe and are not scared to start fights or big projects.
You pick a side or start your own and try to bring your nation glory. Since the world is small you will meet other players a lot so politics and war are a big part of the server.
If you want a vanilla style server with nations and a serious but relaxed community this server is built around that idea.

This server is called VW Reloaded and it has been running for over 10 years with the same world. There are no world resets so your builds and farms are meant to stay forever. If you are tired of losing everything every season this place is made for long term players.
The server has Survival and Skyblock. You can make big bases and huge farms. People build long running redstone setups and they actually last. The mechanics are a bit custom but not super complicated so it still feels like normal Minecraft.
The community feels calm and pretty mature. There are veteran players who have been around for a long time plus new players starting their own projects. The staff focuses on keeping builds safe so it is basically grief free.

Ordinary SMP is a vanilla Java survival server that feels like a small friend group playing together. It is a whitelisted server so the players are more respectful and it really feels like a normal Minecraft world that people care about.
The server is always updated and right now it runs on version 1.21.11. It is focused on building exploring and just having fun in survival. There are community projects and people who like to build together or just hang out and vibe.
There is protection against grief and theft because the staff can check what happened using tools that track player activity. So if someone breaks your stuff they can figure it out and help keep the world safe.
The server uses BlueMap so you can look at an interactive map of the world. It also has Simple VoiceChat so you can talk with other players in game and an audio feature for custom sounds. This is a simple Minecraft server that is called Enchant SMP.
I found it because I was just looking for a place to play survival with other people and it looked kind of chill.
There is not really any big description so you just join and figure it out while you play.
