MineScape is a Minecraft server that feels like an old school style MMORPG. The whole idea is to recreate Old School RuneScape inside Minecraft so it is all about training skills doing quests and exploring.
When you join you start in a big hand made world that looks really detailed. There are custom NPCs and custom mobs that you can talk to and fight. You can go on custom quests and follow stories instead of just wandering around.
There are a bunch of skills to level like attack ranged magic woodcutting mining smithing crafting and more. You can grind skills for hours and watch your levels go up and try to become one of the best on the leaderboards.
You can also collect clue scrolls and solve them for rewards. There are pets cosmetics and titles so you can show off your progress and style. There are daily rewards so logging in often actually feels worth it.

I found a chill survival server with around 15 active players who just hang out and play a lot of Minecraft.
The main vibe is building together in themed areas and trying to make the world feel more immersive. There are six different groups and each one has its own style like Aztec and Egyptian builds underground builds sci fi and magic medieval modern city and Asian inspired.
They keep it close to vanilla with a few gamerule changes or plugins. There is no teleport no home and no economy.
