This server is called MODMIX Factions and it feels like old school factions but on a newer version.
You grind a lot here. You fight other players and you build bases that actually get attacked. TNT raiding is a thing and obsidian has durability so you cannot just hide forever.
There are faction land claims but it is not about making unraidable bases. You need to build and defend and expect people to try and break in.
The server uses MCMMO so you level up skills like swords mining and acrobatics. There are duels player vaults and spawner stacking. You also earn your rank by using XP in game money and your skills instead of just getting it for free.
It runs on the latest version 1.21.8 and you can join on Java or Bedrock. Overall it feels like OG factions brought into a modern server with a focus on grinding PvP and real raiding.

This server is all about crazy storms and tornado survival. It uses a big weather mod so you get clouds rain thunderstorms cyclones squalls supercells and of course tornadoes.
Tornadoes are actually destructive. They can rip through your world and tear down your builds so you have to think about where and how you build. It feels like that old tornado survival series but now on a public server.
The server runs a huge modpack with over 100 mods. The owner did not list them all so you just grab the pack through their discord and follow the steps in the server ip channel to join.
The community is pretty open. It is not really whitelisted you just need to join the discord first to get access. After that you can hop on and try to survive the storms with everyone else.

MustardCraft is a modded server that is all about the Create mod and its addons. It is the final season and it just started so the world still feels new.
The server also has other tech mods like Oritech and Mekanism so you can build big machines and power setups. If you like magic you can mess with Apotheosis and Ars Nouveau and make your own crazy builds.
The map has dungeons spread all over so people can go explore together or solo. The world terrain looks fresh because they used Tectonic and Blooming Nature so it feels way more alive and fun to build in.
There is a Bluemap so you can look at the world from your browser and plan bases or find places to explore. The modpack is on version 8.1.4 right now and the server is focused on this pack and its themes.

Turnabout is a semi vanilla survival server that is starting its second season. It is a whitelist server and it is only for players who are 18 or older. The world is fresh for season 2 so new and old players get to explore together from the start.
The server is all about community and people actually playing together. There are lots of friendly players from different parts of the world so there is usually someone online to talk to or build with. The server is also very inclusive and is focused on LGBTQ plus players and anyone who wants a safe place. There is zero tolerance for hate toward any community.
Turnabout runs different events to help people get involved and make friends. Some events they do are hide and seek games building competitions and roleplay style stuff. It is not just grinding alone. There are fun group activities too.
The gameplay is close to vanilla but has some quality of life addons. It has one player sleep so nights go by faster when one person sleeps. It also has mob and player heads and it supports voice chat so talking and coordinating is easier. These things make multiplayer smoother but keep the game feeling like normal Minecraft.

Marz SMP is a small survival multiplayer server that is trying to feel like a classic vanilla world. It runs on Fabric 1.21.10 and is made for long term play.
The server is for adults only so everyone is 18 or older. It is whitelisted so you have to apply before you can join. That helps keep the community small and more friendly.
There are no seasonal resets so your builds are meant to last. If you like putting a ton of work into one base or one world this server is built for that. The plan is to update the world to future Minecraft versions only when they are stable so the same world just keeps going.
The style is relaxed with minimal restrictions. It seems really good if you are into technical Minecraft or redstone because you get one long term world to test things and build big projects. It also works if you just want to chill survive and hang out with other players.
The server launch date is 06.12.25 and it has already been tested for about two months so they are not starting from zero. Overall it feels like a cozy long term adult SMP where your history actually stays instead of getting wiped all the time.
