I found a decently heavy modded Minecraft server called Dopecraft 420 and it is looking for more players. The owner goes by Chase and most people call him Coop and he seems friendly.
The server runs Forge 1.20.1 and the modpack leans hard on big mods like Warium, Valkyrien Skies, Create, Mekanism, and Biomes O Plenty plus a lot more.
Anyone can join and there is optional creative building too but it is still a work in progress and they want to improve it over time. I found XYZ Anarchy and it is a straight up anarchy server. It has no rules at all and it feels like nobody is going to step in and save you.
People can grief raid and betray whenever they want. There is no protection and nothing is safe so if you build something you better be ready to defend it.

Closebound is a 1.21 SMP that is made for adults who want a calm place after a long day. The world keeps going even if you cannot play every night.
The server has been up for about a month and the dragon is already defeated so the rush is over. Shops are open and it feels more like the best part of a long world where you can just build and relax.
It is whitelisted and runs on Fabric with Proximity Voice included. The rules are meant to keep things simple with no griefing and no heavy land claim stuff. I found a modded SMP that two sisters are building together and it feels like it is made for people who want a real community.
It uses a custom modpack called Runic Engine and it has four progression paths that connect to each other. There is mystic stuff with magic and rituals plus mechanic stuff with machines and automation. There is also adventure for exploring and combat and homestead for farming and economy.
The whole point is that nobody has to rush endgame. They want teamwork and shared projects and people helping each other. They also say it is long term and there are no wipes planned. Emberfield SMP is a whitelisted Vanilla+ survival server for Java 1.21.11 and it is launching Feb 18th at 2000 UTC. It is meant to be long term and community driven so people can build and explore together.
The world is planned to last. Their rules say seasons will be at least 6 months and they will use community feedback before changing it.
It has a diamond based economy goal plus Vanilla Tweaks datapacks and Armor Poser. There is also a Timber plugin for quality of life while still keeping it feeling vanilla.
The server runs regular Minecraft events and also non Minecraft game nights. It has Discord to in game chat connected too.
The community is 16+ and focused on being friendly and creative. The rules are clear like no griefing no stealing and no toxicity. It is also built for megabuilds towns trading and shared projects with a trust based honour system.GG.MINEWIND.NET New Server IP
