The server is built around Towny with geopolitics and war. There is also server lore where an entity named Misty watches what you do and shows up in different forms to keep the server running.
Progression is slowed down on purpose. Villagers will not spam you with enchanted books. Enchantments are crafted or you use the enchanting table the old school way or you find them out in the world. There are progression ranks plus jobs a culture system and custom enchantments with tweaks.
Culture matters because you pick Power Freedom or Balance and that choice affects which enchantments you can craft. You cannot just get everything alone.
War is used more for politics than for nonstop griefing. Only nations can go to war with towns. Winners can occupy a town or plunder money.
