I found this Minecraft server called Malgazar and it is a pretty chill vanilla style world. The server runs mostly vanilla with just a few quality of life plugins so it still feels like normal Minecraft.
There is a small community that feels really tight and people are nice and active. Players seem to enjoy building and surviving together and they want more positive people to join in.
The staff take moderation serious so griefing almost never happens. They watch over the server a lot and they even decided to unban some small time offenders and put them on a watch list so they get a second chance. If someone does bad stuff again they get banned for good.
The world is not tiny either. They recently expanded the Overworld Nether and End borders from about 4.5k to 11k so there is more room to explore and make bases.
If you just want a solid vanilla survival server with a good community and you like being a nice player this server fits that pretty well.

There is also a PvE area called the Wardens Lair where you fight mobs and loot dungeons to make money instead of only mining. The mobs scale in difficulty so it can get risky but the rewards are better.
