You make your own character and step into the land of Mystodia. You explore a strange new plane learn about the rifts meet other survivors and help shape what happens next. The server really wants people to write stories together and build a shared world.
The map is brand new and the world border has not been expanded yet so it feels like a fresh start. The community is queer friendly with a strict anti bigotry stance and it is based on collaboration.

The server stays online all the time and it lets you join on Java versions from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.11. It is recommended to play on 1.21.10 so things run smoother.
The world is huge with a border set to 2 million blocks. There are no map resets and no teleporting. There is no pay to win and griefing and PvP are allowed.
The only command that is allowed is /spawn so people far away are not stuck alone. Nether roof access is allowed phantoms are removed and only half the players are needed to skip the night.

The map is split between noble houses that control their own land. Each house sets taxes for citizens and they still answer to the Crown since the Crown owns all land.

It also has custom enchantments so players can push past normal vanilla limits. There are QOL enhancements too so you can play in new ways to get an edge.

I found a Humans vs Zombies server where real players are on both sides. Humans are trying to survive until the timer ends and zombies are trying to infect everyone.
Humans can hide in stash spots with sandbags and laser mines or they can run around the arenas with pet bats and jetpacks. Zombies get a bunch of classes to pick from like a Fat Zombie that can break into stash spots and a Hunter Zombie that can jump around super fast.
There is also a custom grinding system with smart bot zombies that drop stuff like bundles and power ups. Every month the top mob killers can win prizes like VIP ranks and more.

ArcticMC is a new SMP that started a couple days ago. It feels like a chill survival server where people can just play and not deal with nonstop chaos.
The main gameplay is Towny and factions. You can build a town then team up with others or claim your own space and fight over territory.
PVP matters here but they try to keep it fair with an honor system that is explained in their rules. There is also McMMO so you level up skills while you play and unlock abilities.
