Bee SMP is a small 18 plus Java server that runs on Fabric and it is starting back up with a fresh world on February 11th.
It is modded and the season changes a lot of vanilla stuff like structures fishing farming exploring and building. I saw big mods like Create Farmers Delight Friends and Foes Gone Fishing Patboxs brewery Sea Life Serene Seasons SVC and Travelers Backpack. There are also smaller mods that add extra sounds particle effects and other immersive tweaks.
The community likes doing events building projects and game nights. Being able to use voice chat is preferred.
I found a Survival+ SMP that keeps the normal survival vibe but adds a lot of progression with PvP and economy. It works on Java and Bedrock so more people can join together.
Combat is a big deal here because the server uses custom enchants with rarity tiers from common to legendary. The enchants do more than just damage and can hit you with stuff like poison wither slowness weakness knockback lifesteal and even temporary enchant disabling. Gear builds matter and fights have counterplay.
There are dungeons and bosses too. You enter through portals at /dungeons then clear rooms and beat Elites for better loot and materials. Minions can drop rare loot keys and crafting materials. Boss Totems are used in the right boss rooms to spawn bosses and there are both PvE and PvP dungeons.
The economy is based on playing and selling what you get. You can level up sell multipliers by item type and trade with other players. Crops ores mob drops and spawners all matter and you can use /shop for basic materials or trade through /ah.
PvP is part of the world and teams exist. Raiding is allowed and insiding and scamming items are allowed too. Cheats and unfair advantages are blocked so fights are about skill gear and builds.
There is also a cosmetic wrap system so you can change how your weapons and armor look without changing stats. The server has RTP leaderboards and a clean custom GUI so it is easier to learn.
BareBonesMP has a Hardcore Plus server where dying actually hurts you. Every death takes away one heart until you hit a minimum of 3 hearts.
To get hearts back you have to craft a Heart Crystal using an echo shard and a diamond block. It gives you one heart back and it can even push you past 10 hearts up to 20. Those extra hearts are temporary so they get eaten first when you take damage.
Gameplay stays basically vanilla with no teleport commands. Fire spread and explosions are on so the world can get messy if you are not careful. Even with that it is not an anarchy server and stealing and griefing are not allowed.
There is also a main vanilla SMP that has been around since 2019 with a classic golden days vibe and a whitelisted community that people compare to Hermitcraft. Events happen every weekend and there are mayor elections every month. The server runs 24 7 with QoL plugins like 50 percent sleep leaderboards player and mob heads and armor stand tools plus optional proximity voice and cross chat. The map was reset on Aug 10th 2025.
Summit Survival is a hard survival server that tries to keep Minecraft feeling simple and normal. It started back in 2020 when the owner and friends wanted something that did not feel stuffed with complicated stuff.
There are no land claims so you can play freely with friends and the world stays open. The server uses a raw gold item economy and players run a shopping district for trading.
The quality of life stuff is kept small with things like spawn sethome and night skip. Keep inventory is off so deaths actually matter.
Staff are not trying to control everything and mostly step in for cheating or griefing. The community is active and people hang out and talk together.
Rules are strict about no hacks and no x ray and no removing lava fog. Do not mess with other players builds or entities without permission and keep some space between bases. Universal duping is not allowed but a few single item dupes like rails and string are allowed. Hate speech and language that pushes real world violence is not allowed.
I found a new survival SMP that just opened a couple days ago and it already has a small but active and friendly community. It usually has around 8 to 12 players on during the afternoon.
There are no ranks or donations and the quality of life stuff is just there. Things like claim flight and back and sit are included.
It has a player run economy with a custom shop plots world. Your builds are protected with claims and there is a no grief rule so it feels safe to build.
