Nation States is a semi vanilla server that uses the towny claiming system. The whole idea is to build nations and not just random bases. Players are pushed to make politics trade and war with each other.
The server is all about roleplay and lore and cool conflicts between players. The owner wants people to actually act like they are in a nation and not just grind alone. If you ignore that spirit and just ruin the experience you will probably get removed.
The theme is early antiquity so it feels like playing in an ancient world. There is a custom map that is about 5k by 5k so it is not too huge but still has room for different nations.
From what I can see the community is meant to be competitive but still focused on fun and interaction. It is for people who like nation building and diplomacy and serious roleplay more than just pure pvp or pure survival.

This is a semi vanilla survival server that really focuses on community and creativity. It feels like a chill place where people actually stick around and build together.
The economy is all about diamonds so players trade and shop using them. You can make your own shop and there is a shop menu that lets you browse stuff really fast. There are ranks and vote rewards too so you get perks just by playing and supporting the server.
You can claim land using a golden shovel so your builds stay safe. The server is PvE and they do not allow griefing. It is also true survival so there is no keep inventory. That makes everything feel more intense but still fair.
There are separate worlds just for gathering resources so the main world stays clean for builds. There is also a live world map you can open in your browser so you can see the world from above.
The server allows both Java and Bedrock players so lots of people can join no matter their platform. The community is described as friendly and they run weekly events which sounds fun if you like playing with others and not just solo.

NvizionMC is a small crossplay SMP server that feels really relaxed and friendly. It has been around for about a month and there are around 15 active players each day so it never feels empty but it is not crowded either.
The server is survival with a simple economy. You can rent chest shops at spawn and sell stuff to other players which is cool if you like trading. There is a server shop too so your voting money actually matters.
There is RTP so you can teleport out and find a place to build fast. Claims make it easy to protect your base right away so you do not have to worry as much about people breaking your stuff.
One of the coolest parts is proximity voice chat so you can talk to players that are near you in game. There are cosmetics and some rank and key giveaways and also ImageFrames that let you make posters and memes in game and show them to your friends.
The community vibe looks really chill and the owner seems to be focusing on quality of life plugins instead of making things super complicated. If you want a simple SMP with an economy and voice chat this server feels like a good place to hang out.

Kaleidos MC is a survival SMP that feels like a bright mix of different people and ideas. The name fits because the players are all different and it still works together in one big world.
There is one huge world that you can build in basically forever. Staff uses tools to keep builds safe so griefing is not the focus. Shops are made by players and they run on an honor system so people are expected to be fair and chill.
The server uses some plugins that keep it close to vanilla but still add a few unique things. There are weekly or every other week community builds and events so you are not just playing alone all the time.
The staff is really into improving the server every day. They want a calm and welcoming place where players can relax build and talk. They also offer Patreon membership for extra in game and discord perks but it is not pay to win.
Overall it feels like a friendly adult survival server where the community and long term world matter a lot and where players help shape how the server grows.

This server is called Cobblemon Eterna and it is being built from scratch right now. It is all about Cobblemon and a big long term project.
The world is based on Kanto and Johto and the regions are being hand made instead of random terrain. There will be an RPG style story with quests NPCs and lore so it feels like a real adventure.
The server is also making a custom ranked PvP system called the Zenith League. It uses Elo and divisions and has weekly champions so players who like battling can really try hard and climb.
Right now the server is still in development but people can already join the community as early founders with a Traveler role. Players can see sneak peeks of the map and vote on features so they can help shape how the server is before it launches.
It feels like a place for people who are tired of empty Cobblemon servers and want something big and organized with a strong focus on story and battles.
