LavaNetwork is a community focused Minecraft server that is in beta right now. It is mainly about Survival and trying to keep the gameplay fair and fun while it grows over time.
The Survival mode has a player driven economy with jobs so you can earn money. There are shops plus kits and ranks and PvP if you feel brave. Voting matters here since there is a custom vote GUI and vote crates with useful rewards.
It also tries to stay clean and simple with no pay to win stuff. Getting around is easy too since it uses menus and NPCs.
There are free vote ranks you can earn just by being active and voting. SkyBlock is planned later with missions island co op and island rankings so people can compete.
Joining during beta means you can help test things report issues and give feedback while the server is still being shaped.

The Pen MC is a classic prison server that feels like the older 2014 style. It is barebones and all about grinding instead of getting overpowered fast. There is no instasell so you have to work for your money.
Mining is the main grind where you smelt ores yourself and then you have to travel through PvP zones to sell. Ranking goes A to H then you can reach Parole.
After you rank up you can prestige and you are not forced into one path. You can keep mining or swap to custom fishing or fight in the mob arena with boss waves. There is also a cookie farming bakery system where you grow wheat and cocoa then bake cookies with custom mechanics and do long term cookie quests plus leaderboards.
There are guards that enforce contraband rules and illegal crops that are high risk and high reward. You can rent cells and plots use the auction house set bounties do parkour and run player shops. This is a vanilla anarchy server that has been running for almost a year. It is made for players who want the anarchy vibe but without hacks.
You can join on Java and Bedrock and even on consoles through the friend add method. Java supports 1.13 to 1.21.x and the recommended version is 1.21.11.
The rules are mainly about keeping it fair and keeping the server stable. Hacked clients cheats and xray are not allowed even with resource packs. Exploiting server vulnerabilities is banned and so is crashing the server or trying to lag it out. Macros and automation tools are not allowed. Nexara is a sci fi roleplay server set on a giant colony ship that feels like a whole city. Most of the roleplay happens on the ship and it keeps expanding because players build onto it as the story goes on.
The main gameplay is about player interaction and story progression. People gather resources from planets then bring it back to improve the ship and keep the roleplay moving. Staff run plots so there is usually something new happening and it is not just slice of life.
There is a short whitelist process before you can fully join in. The community has players from lots of regions so it is easier to find someone to roleplay with. The server also says it supports and affirms 2SLGBTQIA plus players and other diverse backgrounds.

CaliCraft is a player run server based out of California where you can actually shape what happens. It feels like survival mixed with politics because players vote for an Emperor every two weeks and that person gets real power.
The Emperor can add or remove plugins across gamemodes and make laws and even imprison people for any reason. If you get marked as a fugitive you can end up spawning in prison when you die or get dragged back in handcuffs if you get caught. There is a Constitution they have to follow but they can also make temporary laws. Some laws can become permanent through a 3 day Discord poll.
There is a lobby first and it helps you jump into different gamemodes fast. The server has Modded Survival with custom enchantments skills jobs an auction house an economy custom dungeons and vote crates with gear. It also has Vanilla Survival with quests chest sorting and daily rewards plus Skyblock with extra addons.
There is also a Cobblemon server on a separate Fabric setup so you need the Cobblemon modpack to play it. The server supports versions from 1.17.1 to 1.21.10.

Vanilla Demon is a next generation vanilla survival server that is built to run on the latest Minecraft version with no server side lag.
It is meant to feel like classic survival but with extra helpful commands. You can jump to the survival world or the wilderness with /wild. You can set a waypoint with /sethome then return to it with /home. You can also teleport to other players using /tp and use /help for more commands.
