    Durian SMP is a brand new server that is about to open soon. It is planned for Minecraft 1.21.11 and they are still gathering players right now.

    From what I saw it is almost completely vanilla. It has optional Simple Voice Chat if you want it and it also uses some server side performance mods.

    The community sounds small but friendly and growing. The server is expected to open in about 2 to 7 days so it feels like a good time to get in early.

    Ten Chances Hardcore Betrayal SMP

    I found this hardcore SMP called Ten Chances and it is built for betrayal and chaos. It is 10 players with 10 lives each and you have one year to survive and become the last player or last team standing. When Day 365 hits whoever is still alive wins the big glory stuff like god tier loot and custom tags and bragging rights.

    PvP is always on so you can get jumped anytime. If you kill someone you steal half a heart from their life count rounded down so fighting and backstabbing actually changes the whole season. Trust feels like a mistake here.

    The server gets meaner the more lives you lose. At higher lives mobs are faster and creepers hit harder. In the middle range natural regeneration gets turned off and phantoms show up from day 1 and ores become rare. When you are down to 3 to 1 lives cursed events can trigger like Blood Moons and Boogeyman hunts and random Origins powers and ghost players and wither skulls raining.

    Every week there are decrees that force drama like having to build in spawn town or losing a life or limits on armor. There are also community voted events that keep getting more insane like an Ender Dragon fight with slowness and a no sleep week and a Wither Storm invasion.

    EchelonMC Custom SMP Built to Last

    I found EchelonMC and it feels like a serious survival server made for building with people and sticking around. It is custom built from the ground up and it is not trying to be a PvP chaos place. They say it is not about stealing or griefing.

    It runs on Minecraft Java with 1.21.11 recommended and older versions supported. The server is hosted in Canada and it has been in active development for about a month with frequent patches. They also say there is no pay to win.

    The gameplay has a bunch of custom systems like auto pathing where you make paths by walking and you can get speed bonuses on them. There is a currency called Echelites you earn by playing and you can spend it on progression and utilities.

    Land claiming is a big deal here with visual borders and lots of settings like mob controls and protection for stuff like TNT fire spread raids and fluids. You can also publish public chunks so other players can visit your builds and it tracks rankings.

    There are teams so you can invite friends share utilities and show team nametags. Deaths make graves that hold your items for a time and there is a back command to help you recover after teleports. There is also voting rewards discord linking with chat bridge a spawn hub with custom NPCs and anti x ray protection and they say they keep changing things based on player feedback.

    This is a PvP SMP that started about 2 days ago and it is still pretty small.

    The world has a 10000×10000 border so players are closer together and fights can happen more.

    The End is locked and there are only 2 maces. There are usually like 8 to 10 players so it feels chill but you can still run into people.
