I found a survival event on the Frostbound server where you get one main goal. You have to find the cure and survive while a zombie infection is going on.
It is a 7 day event and it feels like everyone is supposed to work together with players from all over the world. There is also proximity chat so you can hear people nearby.
They also run player driven stories during the event. Each day they host small mini game type events and you can win prizes that help you on your mission.

Imperial SMP is a vanilla survival server running on Fabric and it is made to feel like real Minecraft with only minimal plugins for stuff like optimization and anti cheat.
