This server is all about humans vs zombies with a twist. It is not a normal survival world. You join a game and then you fight off tons of mobs and try to climb the kill leaderboard.
Right now mob kills got reset so everyone is starting fresh. If you grind your way to the top of the leaderboard you can win VIP ranks and Overkill keys. The keys are described as very good so it is worth trying if you like rewards.
You can join on Java version 1.21 and up. After you log in you click on a book to join the game. The server even tells you one of the best ways to farm. You go into a tunnel type slash sandbag place your sandbag then wait for zombies to come and start shooting them.
The whole vibe is about having fun grinding zombies and seeing your name rise on the leaderboard. It feels like a place where you decide if you just watch others or you jump in and have fun yourself.

North Survival is a semi vanilla server that feels simple but still has some helpful features. It is not overloaded with crazy plugins so you still get that normal Minecraft feeling but a bit smoother.
You can use villagers with easy clicking so trading and managing stuff is faster. There is RTP so you can find a building spot right away without walking forever. You can use TPA to teleport and play with your friends which makes it easier to stick together.
The server has a custom UI and a protected spawn so new players do not get messed with right away. It also runs on version 1.21.4 and supports all 1.21 clients so it is updated to the newest stuff.
From what I can see the performance is stable so it does not lag a lot and it seems focused on survival with PvP so you can build but also fight if you want.

This server is called Entrapped and it is a hardcore Attack on Titan lore world. Humanity is stuck inside walls and death is permanent so every choice you make really matters a lot.
The server follows the Attack on Titan story in order and events happen like the canon timeline until players change them by surviving or failing. There is no teleportation so traveling is slow and scary. Horses are super important because you train them and ride them into combat and on expeditions.
Outside the walls if you die it is over. The server has a Humanity Supply System that tracks food materials and other stuff people need to live. Supplies can run out so players have to go on expeditions farm and hunt or everyone is in trouble.
You get stronger by killing titans doing missions and going on expeditions. This unlocks passive abilities and specializations. The economy actually matters because money lets you buy gear weapons property organizations and your own private missions.
Wall defense fights titan outbreaks and training events are all permadeath so you cannot just rush in and be dumb. Titans stick around and surviving is never guaranteed.

This is a new crossplay survival server that is trying to be super chill. It is a SMP with Java and Bedrock players together. The owner waited to advertise it until the plugins and setup were done so it already runs pretty smooth.
The community is still growing but it already has around 80 members with about 15 people playing every day. The vibe feels friendly and relaxed. Parents and kids even play together here and everyone is welcome as long as they are patient while things keep getting better.

This server is a hardcore SMP called Dont Die SMP. It is all about staying alive while the world tries to kill you. You do not have to worry about other players attacking you because PvP is turned off.
If you die you go into spectator mode. Death is meant to feel final and serious. There is a large respawn radius so you cannot just pop back into the same spot and keep going like nothing happened.
The world itself is the real enemy. Mobs traps bad jumps and bad planning will get you. Traps are allowed as long as they use normal vanilla Minecraft stuff. You just cannot directly kill other players.
The server is vanilla and does not use mods that change how the game works. It runs on Java 1.21.11. There is no locator bar or easy compass tracking so you actually have to explore and pay attention.
Sleeping needs most people in the server so nights are still scary and important. The whole idea is that this is hardcore and tense but not a grief PvP mess. If you are tired of getting randomly killed by players and want the world itself to be the challenge then this server fits that style.
