HermitiaSMP is a small Hermitcraft inspired survival server that cares a lot about community and working together.
It runs weekly events so new people can jump in and meet everyone. Some events are in game and some are real life stuff and art competitions.
There is optional proximity voice chat so you can talk to players while you play. The server also has event houses and community builds where you can join a house and earn points.
It uses a custom HermitiaSMP datapack plus some QoL mods to improve vanilla gameplay. For safety it has anti grief plugins like CoreProtect.
There is a server news service and even a player ran RP government. Server lore is planned for later too.

It is Java only and you need the Cobblemon mod to join. The server is hosted on Aternos so it is not online 24 7.

XYZ Vanilla is a semi anarchy semi vanilla survival server that tries to stay close to normal Minecraft but still adds some plugins and gamerule changes to make it feel better.
It works on Java and Bedrock so more people can join. The server is new and started on January 15th 2026.
The world has a 3 million border and the nether and end are 375k for now and it can grow later. There are no map resets and nether roof access is on.
It is hard difficulty. Only 25 percent of players need to sleep to skip the night. You also respawn farther out around spawn.
Phantoms are optional and you can toggle them with a command. They recommend playing on the latest version to avoid problems.

I found a long term survival world that stays vanilla and plays on hard difficulty. It is meant to feel calm and actually multiplayer even when a lot of people are on.

I found a survival server called CaveMC that is semi anarchy and feels like enhanced vanilla. The whole overworld is underground so there is no surface at all. It uses custom world generation made by real Minecraft developers and the caves stretch forever with biomes resources and structures.
The vibe is brutal survival and you really have to be resourceful to make it. Season 2 is a fresh start with a bunch of additions.
There is also a Wasteland Dimension that opens on November 8th. It brings brand new gear to fight over plus huge mega structures with mysteries and valuable stuff. It also has its own unique currency so players can make a new economy and trade.
