HermitiaSMP is a small vanilla plus style server that has been running with a tight community for a while. It feels like a cozy world where people actually know each other and help keep things running smooth.
The server is run by a few friends who built up a discord with a couple hundred members. Now they are looking for new admins to help out because real life is getting busy. They want people who like working as a team and who can handle responsibility without causing drama.
Admins are expected to care about the community and try to make the SMP better with new ideas and effort. You need to be ok with following the existing rules and leadership and also be able to keep punishments and player identities private when needed.
You have to be at least 16 years old. Knowing how to use core protect is a bonus but it is not required. Only a few people will get picked to try out as probation admins and even fewer will become full admins.

Nihility SMP is an Earth Towny server where players actually shape history instead of just grinding for hours.
The world is a big Earth map so you can pick your favorite spot and turn it into a town or even a whole nation. Players create every town every nation every alliance and every war. Nothing is pre made.
You can be a mayor who runs a peaceful city or a king who rules a big empire. You can be a trader who tries to control the economy or a general who leads wars. Or you can just be a normal survivor and build a home and chill.
The server uses Towny so you can claim land and build towns and nations with your friends. Governments are run by players so diplomacy and alliances and wars are all decided by the community. It is only SMP gameplay with no minigames and there is no pay to win stuff.
The world is still empty right now so early players get the best land and probably the most power later. It really feels like you are there at the start of a brand new world.

I found this Minecraft server called Malgazar and it is a pretty chill vanilla style world. The server runs mostly vanilla with just a few quality of life plugins so it still feels like normal Minecraft.
There is a small community that feels really tight and people are nice and active. Players seem to enjoy building and surviving together and they want more positive people to join in.
The staff take moderation serious so griefing almost never happens. They watch over the server a lot and they even decided to unban some small time offenders and put them on a watch list so they get a second chance. If someone does bad stuff again they get banned for good.
The world is not tiny either. They recently expanded the Overworld Nether and End borders from about 4.5k to 11k so there is more room to explore and make bases.

New Dawn SMP is a vanilla survival server that is built to last for a long time. The world is planned to run for about 8 to 12 months so you actually get time to finish big bases and towns instead of restarting all the time.
The server is whitelisted and uses an honor system so people are expected to be trustworthy. There is no griefing no stealing and no toxic behavior allowed. It is a friendly and mature community that still feels really chill. Players help lead projects and work together on builds and towns.
