Headrest SMP is a paper survival server that mixes chill building with real pvp and lore. The server runs on version 1.20.10 and has an active community that actually talks and plays together.
There is a safe zone at spawn where people can build shops and hang out. Players can use a simple voice chat mod to talk to each other so it feels more like everyone is in the same place.
The server uses a few quality of life plugins. There is no elytra during combat so fights feel more fair. There is combat logging protection so people cannot just run away by leaving the server. There is also a sit command and some other small things that make normal survival a bit nicer.
