Halcyon is a Minecraft lands PvP server that feels like old school survival but on the newest version. It was started by a postgraduate medievalist and the whole server aims for a strong medieval atmosphere.
The world is custom made with big unique biomes. There is no teleporting so travel actually matters. Players make roads waystations and hidden railways to move around. The F3 menu is turned off so you cannot just use coordinates to find your way. People trade lodestone compasses make maps and even learn how to navigate with the sun and moon.
The gameplay is meant to be harder and slower. There are some restrictions that reduce easy meta strategies and automation. Progression takes more effort so things like bravery smart trading big cities and mighty fortresses are what make you strong. You succeed by teaming up and rallying people to your banner instead of abusing exploits.
The community is based in Australia but there are players from Europe the Americas and Asia. There is no strict server lore you must follow. You just join pick a direction punch some trees and play Minecraft how you like. Over time simple projects turn into big stories as other players get involved.
The plugins and world are built to encourage emergent storytelling. Players already write books make art and even create their own myths and superstitions. It feels like a living medieval world that grows with what the players do.

This is a Cobblemon server that is trying to fix how empty and boring other servers feel. It is called Cobblemon Eterna and it is being built as a huge long term project.
The world has real Kanto and Johto that are hand built instead of random generation. There are RPG style quests with NPCs and lore so it feels like a story instead of just wandering around.
There is also a custom ranked PvP system called the Zenith League. It uses Elo and divisions and has weekly champions so battles actually matter and you can grind for a real spot on the ladder.
Right now the server is still in development but they want people to join early. You can be an early founder get sneak peeks of the map and vote on features so you can help shape the server before it fully launches.

Cypher SMP is a new public Minecraft world where you just jump in and play with other people. It feels like normal Minecraft but you are not alone and there are players all around who want to make friends.
The server is open all day and all night so you can log in whenever you want. There is no world border so you can run in any direction and keep going forever. You can find a spot you like and make your own base without feeling trapped.
People on here do all kinds of stuff. Some players grind really hard and make huge farms. Some just build cool bases or small towns. Others like to fight and do PvP battles. You can pretty much play how you want and just use your imagination.

HoneySMP is a brand new survival world and it just opened so everything is fresh and untouched. I like that you can join now and actually feel early and not super behind everyone.
The server is all about player economy. You can rent trade halls at spawn and run your own shop so the players control the market. It makes getting rich and trading with others a big part of the gameplay.
There are daily quests and rewards so the grind does not feel boring. You always have something to do instead of just mining all day.
They also have random teleport so you can find a place for your base fast. There are jobs you can do and unique cosmetics to show off. It runs on Java 1.21.1 plus.

Atlas SMP is a survival multiplayer server that puts you on a huge replica of planet earth. The world is built at a 1 to 500 scale so you can explore real locations but in Minecraft size. It feels really cool to walk across countries and oceans and actually recognize the shapes.
The server runs Towny with extra addons so players can make towns and nations. You can claim land build cities and form big countries with other players. Nations can work together or turn into rivals so there is a lot of drama and politics between groups.
Atlas has its own economy. You can earn money by doing quests getting jobs and trading with other players. You can also trade between towns and whole countries and try to control the market if you get rich enough.
There is warfare and trade so you can declare war start sieges and try to become a military power. Or you can focus on trading and be the person who runs a giant trading empire instead. There is a lot of roleplay too since players make their own lore and history for their towns and nations.
