The economy is run by players and not by villagers or shop npcs. You can still sell food crops and ores but almost everything else comes from trading with other people and from how nations control resources. Power comes from smart trade and good planning.
There are no elytras and no villagers so travel and borders actually matter. You cannot just fly over everything or get free gear from trading. Nations have to rely on real players for gear and supplies.
Fishing is changed too with custom loot so sometimes fishing can give rare stuff that helps a nation get stronger. The world is 5000 by 5000 so countries are close together and that makes diplomacy and conflict happen fast.
