Kronos SMP is a full Earth server where the map is scaled 1 to 500 so the continents are actually huge and the oceans actually matter. Everyone starts in a fresh empty world so there are no old empires or stacked nations or destroyed land.
You pick a real location on the Earth map and claim it. Then you defend it or try to take land from other players. Factions can grow into nations and the whole server is about geopolitics and wars and alliances instead of just grinding.
The economy is run by players so power comes from land and people you control not from kits or pay to win stuff. Wars are real and borders actually change when people win or lose. Nothing is just cosmetic.
The server is for Java Edition version 1.20.1 and is hosted on strong hardware so it can handle big player counts. Admins do not play favorites and there is no pay to win.
This server is mainly for people who like planning and maps and history and drama that actually affects the world. It is also for players who enjoy leading and scheming and staying up late for wars. If you just want a super chill SMP this one is probably not for you.

Nation States is a new Minecraft server that is all about building nations and doing politics between players. It is semi vanilla and uses a towny style claiming system so players can make towns and bigger nations.
The theme is early antiquity and the world is a custom map that is about 5k by 5k in size. The server wants players to focus on roleplay lore and conflicts. You are meant to play like your nation is real and act in character.
The server is made to encourage nationbuilding diplomacy trade war and lots of interaction between players. It is supposed to feel competitive so one group cannot just stomp everyone forever.
There is also something called the spirit of the server. That means you should play in a way that fits the roleplay lore and conflict idea. If you ignore that and just try to ruin the experience you can be removed so people who follow the spirit can have fun.
You can join from both Java and Bedrock and even console players can get on by adding the special friend account. It is a crossplatform world where everyone meets on the same map and fights or talks it out.

Stormy Lagoon SMP is a survival multiplayer server that works on both Java and Bedrock. You can join from PC or from your phone.
The server feels like a chill place where people just want to play together and survive. It is not full of crazy stuff and seems more like normal Minecraft with a shared world.
There is also a Discord where the community hangs out and talks. It looks like the owner is active and wants people to join and play together.
If you want a simple crossplay SMP where you can just hop on and build and survive with others this server seems like a good pick.

RelicSMP is a brand new vanilla style SMP that just started and it already feels really cozy. The world is completely fresh so you get to be there from the very beginning and help make the lore as you go.
The server is mostly vanilla but has a few quality of life plugins so it still feels like normal Minecraft. It is whitelist only so the community can stay friendly and chill. People here seem to care more about hanging out and building cool stuff together than sweating super hard.
There is also a separate forever world so if you want your builds to last and not get wiped you can keep them safe there. Players are invited to help shape the features and the future of the server so your ideas actually matter.
If you want a relaxed community focused SMP where you can start with everyone on a new map RelicSMP looks like a good place to join.

This is a new SMP world that feels super chill and relaxed. It is an 18 plus community and most players are in their 20s but there are older players too. There are usually around ten people online and everyone acts pretty mature.
The rules are simple and easy to follow. No griefing. No stealing. No unwelcome pvp. People just focus on having fun and building cool stuff. Most players work on their own bases but they are close enough that you can have neighbors if you ask.
The community seems very friendly. People like to trade and help out and share items when someone needs something. The server is semi vanilla with a few plugins and you can turn them off if you want to play more pure vanilla. It runs on hard mode so the world is a bit tougher.
The world is still very new. The nether and the end have not been explored yet. They usually make a nether hub and a shopping district every world but those are not built yet in this one.
