GlowSMP is a new Vanilla plus survival server that feels close to normal Minecraft but with a bunch of helpful extras.
You can join on both Java and Bedrock and the world is for players who like building grinding or just chilling. There are claims so you do not have to worry about griefing and you can focus on your base.
The server has a lot of quality of life features like voice chat better harvesting chest sorting graves and an online world map. There are also special enchantment books that help with stuff like chopping whole trees or mining faster.
Fishing is a pretty big thing too. There are lots of new fish you can catch and sell plus a way to track what you have caught and leaderboards for the best fishers.
There is a jobs system that gives you experience and money for most things you do instead of locking you into just a few jobs. You can see leaderboards so you know who plays which style the most.
One of the coolest features is a central storage network that feels like modded storage. You can make a terminal in your base and link chests to it so it is way easier to search and store items.
The server is fully free to play. Everything is obtainable in game for everyone. Vote ranks give extra rewards and commands and there is a shop for people who want shortcuts but it is not required at all.

Eternal Region SMP is a survival server that feels pretty close to normal Minecraft but with some small changes to make it nicer.
The server is focused on PvE and players can only do PvP if both people agree. There are player shops and community events so it has more of a town vibe instead of just random bases everywhere.
Phantoms do not spawn but phantom membrane drops from bats. Creepers and endermen cannot break blocks so your builds are a lot safer. There are also chat games for some extra fun and rewards while you play.

BeeSMP is an 18 plus semi vanilla SMP that is still getting set up but already feels like a cool project.
The whole idea is to make a long term survival server where players help decide what it becomes. People are joining early to share ideas for features rules and events and the staff actually want feedback.

The Anthill SMP is a vanilla style server with some nice quality of life plugins. It runs on version 1.21.11 and it focuses on normal survival gameplay.
The server is made for players who are 17 or older. It is based in the UK but they are happy to have players from all over the world. The community is meant to feel fair and welcoming and the goal is to meet new friendly people.
They have anti griefing measures so your builds and items should be safe. I found this server called Anarchy Network and it is a semi anarchy Minecraft world that feels really close to vanilla. It started on October 11th 2024 and it is always online.
You can join with a lot of Java versions from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.10 and they say it works best on 1.21.10. The world border is huge at 2 million blocks so you can run super far away and still keep going.
The server has no map resets and no teleporting at all except for a simple spawn command so people very far away are not stuck alone forever. There is no pay to win stuff and griefing and PvP are totally allowed so you have to be careful who you trust.
It is mostly vanilla but they removed phantoms which is nice and they let people use the nether roof. Only half the people on the server need to sleep to skip the night so you are not stuck in the dark all the time.
Even though it is semi anarchy it still has a few rules. You cannot use exploits or lag machines or duping. You also cannot spam chat or harass people or use racial slurs. So it is chaotic but not totally toxic.
Overall it feels like a raw survival server where players control almost everything and staff only stops the really broken stuff.

Headrest SMP is a paper Minecraft server that runs on version 1.20.10. It uses a few quality of life plugins so the game still feels close to normal survival but with some nicer features.
The server has a strong focus on pvp and community. There is a safe zone at spawn where people can build shops and hang out. In spawn players can also talk with each other using a simple voice chat mod.
Outside the safe zone players can fight and start wars. Some of the plugins are no elytra during combat and combat log so fights are more fair. There is also a sit command and more small features that make it feel more cozy.
The community aims to be a place where everyone can be friends build bases and still have big battles when they want. You can join to make friends or you can betray them and take part in wars and server lore.
The server runs on a dedicated machine with 20 GB of ram and a 5800x3d cpu to help keep lag away during fights and big events.
