GildedAbyss is a new modded SMP that is all about the community and how people interact with the world. The server is just starting up and Season 1 will begin once enough players join so it feels like a real world from day one.
The world has a ton of new biomes to explore with Biomes O Plenty and Terralith so everything looks fresh and interesting. There are special items you can get with different ways to obtain them so it feels rewarding when you figure it out.
There is also an ancestral archetype system where you pick a sub race in game and use its strengths to your advantage. On top of that there are more ores and new tools and weapons so progression feels more fun and not just the normal vanilla path.
The Create mod is in the pack so you can build machines and contraptions as long as they are reasonable. The owner wants lots of suggestions from players and there will be many events once the server really starts up so the world does not feel empty.
To join you go through a simple ticket style whitelist where you talk to the owner or a moderator and if you seem like a good fit you get added. It feels like they really want a solid and friendly group instead of random chaos.

PeaMC Classic Survival No Teleports
PeaMC is a pure survival server that tries to feel like old Minecraft. It keeps things simple so you just survive travel build and meet people without a bunch of extra stuff.
There are no teleports and no land claims so the world feels more natural and you have to explore for real. You can make teams and invite friends. The server supports Java and Bedrock and it works across versions from 1.7x to 1.21.11.
PvP is allowed but griefing and stealing are not allowed. Spawn killing is not allowed and new players get one day where PvP is off unless they disable it. Destructive PvP like TNT beds respawn anchors end crystals and minecart PvP is not allowed. Maces are banned too.

Blux SMP is a survival server running a vanilla plus modpack made by the owner. The mods do not change a ton of gameplay and they mostly build on the default Minecraft feel.

There is no world border and the server stays on the latest stable vanilla version. Players are expected to handle their own social problems so it can feel pretty wild.

Crafted Survival is a semi vanilla SMP where the community and the economy are a big deal and people focus on building and being creative.

Land claiming is on so you can protect your builds using golden shovels. The server is PvE focused with no griefing and it does not use keep inventory.
It supports Java and Bedrock crossplay so more friends can join. There is a live world map you can view in your browser and separate resource worlds so the main world stays clean.
