I found a modded Minecraft server that is inspired by a content style SMP but it is not scripted so it feels more real.
You can publish your own mods for the server which makes it sound like everyone can help shape what gets played.
To join you have to fill out an application form and they also say do not put any personal info in it.

New Dawn SMP is a community run vanilla survival server where people build explore and make big projects together. The world launched on Nov 8th and it runs on Java 1.21.11. It is whitelisted and it is for 16 plus.
The server has a diamond based economy with districts for shops games and minigames. There are vanilla tweaks datapacks plus armor poser and a timber quality of life plugin that still feels close to vanilla.
People do survival minigames minecraft events and even non minecraft game nights. There is also a discord to in game chat bot so you can keep up with chat.
The vibe is friendly and mature and focused on creativity. The rules are clear with no griefing no stealing and no toxicity. It uses an honour system so it is more trust based. Java and Bedrock are supported.
Waystone is a long term survival SMP where your builds are meant to stay. The world has been running since 2 December 2025 and they say it will never wipe. It feels like a Hermitcraft style place with a small group that likes finishing big projects.
It is not pay to win and it does not push an economy grind. Land claims help keep your stuff safe and there is a live map so you can see what everyone is building over time.
PvP is consent based so you can fight only if you want to. Deaths are less annoying because gravestones hold your items for hours. There is ValhallaMMO so your skills level up as you play. Group loot is fair because everyone gets their own drops.
There are also extra commands like binbag and salvage plus a custom rank progression system. Simple Voice Chat is available but optional. The server is UK hosted on Java 1.21.1 and it is whitelisted with weekly events and active staff.

It is vanilla and it runs on Paper so it should feel like normal survival but with anarchy vibes.
