This server is called EVA SMP and it feels like a long term world where you are supposed to take your time and grow slowly. It is Java Edition 1.20.2 and you just join without extra downloads.
The server uses something called Economy Points. You use these along with allegiances and territory to get stronger and unlock stuff. As you play you can get custom armor and supernatural abilities instead of getting everything right away.
Their factions are called allegiances. You can join one or start your own or just stay solo. You can trade with people explore build and join in conflicts and world events as new systems and tech get added over time.
There is a big World Tree dungeon that is part of the lore. In there you can fight harder enemies for special armor and rewards you cannot craft normally.
If you do not like fighting you can still progress. You can get special items quality of life stuff and Economy Points by building and farming so chill players are not left behind.
Right now the server is in beta and they are looking for people who want to test things give feedback and help shape how the server will be in the future.

This is a small and pretty chill Minecraft server that already has over 100 players. It is still fairly new and people are active and hanging out.
The server has grief protection so you can build without stressing about your stuff getting ruined. There are a few mods but they do not really change how your game runs. It still feels normal to play.
The community is friendly and not toxic. People like to talk and there is a voice chat plugin so you can hang out and chat while you play.
The end fight is happening soon to celebrate the server being up for one month. The main rule is to not cheat and to keep the server fun for everyone who joins.

This server is a vanilla anarchy survival world that starts you in the middle of the ocean. When you join you have to swim or use a boat and find land before you can really build or explore. It feels like an adventure right from the first minute.
The world has been around since 2011 so the terrain is super mixed. You can find really old areas and ruins and if you travel far enough you can reach newer land that was generated after 2014. Sometimes player and mob heads drop in combat so fights can give you cool trophies.
The server uses a few simple datapacks that give you commands like trigger home and trigger spawn. You can set up to 10 homes which makes moving around the giant old world a lot easier. Nothing else really changes the gameplay so it still feels like classic vanilla Minecraft.
There are only two rules. You have to treat other players with respect and you cannot try to crash the server on purpose. Besides that almost anything is allowed. Griefing is allowed and hacked clients are allowed too so you need to be careful and smart about your builds.
Most people playing are in their mid twenties or older. A lot are from the US and there are also some Russian and Polish speakers. The vibe is pretty relaxed and not super structured so you can just do your own thing and explore or fight or build how you want.

KKDOGS is a new Minecraft minigames server that is trying to be fun and fair and focused on the community. It is still growing so you can join early and actually be part of the server while it gets bigger.
The server has some minigames you do not see everywhere. One of them is called Creative plus and it sounds pretty different so it is worth checking out if you are bored of the usual stuff.
Both cracked players and bedrock players can join so you do not have to worry about what kind of account or platform you have. The goal is to make it easy for anyone to hop on and play with friends.
The staff are active and the server is in development so things are changing and improving. They want feedback and suggestions from players so you can share your ideas and help shape the server.
They also plan to run events and giveaways as the community grows. If you want a minigame server where you can get in early and feel involved this one is made for that.

Shadow MC is a semi vanilla SMP that is made for both Java and Bedrock players. It lets everyone play together so it feels like one big world.
The server has custom biomes and structures so exploring feels different from normal Minecraft. There are quality of life plugins that try to keep the game close to vanilla but still more comfortable to play.
The Nether is open but The End is closed so the main focus is survival and building in the overworld. TNT duping is not allowed and mob griefing like creeper explosions is turned off so your builds are safe.
The community is friendly and welcoming and there are frequent events so you are not just playing alone all the time. It feels like a place where you can join today and slowly become part of the group.
