ArcticMC is a new SMP survival server that mixes Towny and factions so you can build a town or grab land and make alliances or start beef.
PVP matters here and they try to keep it fair with an honor system that is explained in their rules. It feels more calm than most faction places and people are just trying to play without nonstop chaos.
It also has McMMO skills so you level up stuff like mining and combat as you play and unlock abilities. There are custom items too like furniture and it is entity based so they plan limits to help with lag.
