Exodus is a semi vanilla survival server that is all about geopolitics and nations. It is more focused on geopol stuff than roleplay so you can get into strategy and politics if you want.
The map has a 5000 by 5000 world border so resources are limited and people are pushed to trade instead of hoard. Some players like to fight and some just want to build and do politics and both are fine here. You do not have to be good at pvp to play.
There are a few clear rules. No griefing. No duping. No x ray. The nether and the end are closed so everyone stays in the overworld. Farms have to be hidden which makes bases feel secret and sneaky. There are also rules that are supposed to make pvp better and more fair.

So I found this server called LegacyMC and it is a full vanilla anarchy world. There are no rules and no pay to win and no special gameplay plugins. It feels like classic survival where everything is wild and nothing is protected.

The world has custom generation so it is not the same old vanilla map. There are over 200 custom structures to explore so you can wander around and find cool places while you grind.

Aegea is a semi vanilla survival server with a simple economy and ranks. It uses Spigot and a few plugins to make life easier but it still feels close to normal Minecraft.
You can use commands like help back and sethome to get around. There is tpa and tpahere so you can teleport to other players. You can make trade signs to sell items for your own price and you can use sell and sell hand to make money. You can lock chests and doors and staff can rollback grief with CoreProtect. There is also rtp so you can randomly teleport into the wild. The map is new so there is space to build.
The rank system is based on playtime. Everyone starts as Guest and then becomes Peasant which is the basic rank with five sethomes. After that you can work your way up to Artisan and Noble for more commands and more homes. Once a month there is an election for the highest player rank called Premier. The winner is Premier for one month until the next vote.
Players can also join factions that are called teams. Teams share a name a home and warps so you can build together under one banner.
