Exodus is a semi vanilla survival server that is all about geopolitics. It is meant more for geopol than for heavy roleplay so you spend a lot of time dealing with nations power and control instead of acting out a character.
The world has a 5000 by 5000 border so resources are limited. This makes trading and deals way more important because you cannot just run forever to find new stuff.
You do not have to be good at pvp to have fun here. You can focus on building cool bases or getting into politics and making alliances and enemies. Different players like different things and the server really knows that.
There are some clear rules to keep things fair. No griefing other people builds. No duping and no x ray. The end and the nether are closed so everyone is stuck in the overworld together. Farms have to be hidden and there are rules made to make pvp better and not super toxic.
The server started pretty recently so there is still room for new people to join and find a spot in the world.

This is a community centered survival server made by the players for the players. It is aiming for that Hermitcraft style SMP feeling while still keeping the vanilla experience most people want.
There is a diamond based economy with a shopping district. Players also work on public builds and bigger projects together. A lot of people use proximity chat so it feels more social when you run into someone.
The server has some homes plus a few cosmetic and quality of life plugins. Changes get added from community requests and polls. It is Java only on Minecraft 1.21.11 and it is whitelisted and 18 plus only.

It has reinforcement with Citadel and it uses snitches for tracking stuff. There is Slimefun for extra gameplay and Movecraft for vehicles.
You can play with Origins and there are RPG mechanics with ValhallaMMO. The world has seasons and levelled mobs so fights can feel tougher.

I found Toms3 and it feels like a small fresh alternative if you are tired of the big anarchy servers.
It is a cracked anarchy server with a brand new world and it tries to stay near vanilla with only small changes to keep it stable.
There are no admins and no rules and no bans or shadowbans so you can play however you want. There is also no tpa and no home commands so traveling actually matters.
It uses a separate authentication server and has a strict anti cheat like 2b2t. Modified clients are allowed but movement stuff like flight elytra fly and timer are disabled even if people still try to bypass it.
It has two dupes right now which are item frame dupe and donkey dupe for 1.15.2. Printers work fine for people who build and if you like crystal pvp anchors and offhand crystals are heavily penalized.
