Elysium is a small Java server that just reopened with a fresh start in early November. It used to be public back in 2022 then it closed at the start of 2024. Now it is back and looking for mostly 18 plus players to join the community.
There are three main worlds. Survival is on 1.21.10 with a 10k by 10k border and mcMMO skills. It tries to feel more vanilla since teleport commands are off except for a bed home. People use Nether roof travel instead. There is also a shopping district at spawn where players can set up chest shops and diamonds are the money.
Plots gives players 85 by 85 creative plots so you can build in peace. You start with one plot and can earn more by ranking up in the build ranks.
Creative is a superflat freebuild world for bigger builds and community projects. You can work together if everyone agrees. Griefing or changing someone else build without permission is not allowed.
There is a Hub world for traveling between worlds and you can use spawn or hub to get there. It has hangout spots and an amphitheater for community events. There is also a second Creative world that is only for higher build ranks.

Twigland is an SMP where you start off just trying to survive and chill with the community.
People build bases and grind for better gear but there is also this underground crop plugin that can turn normal farming into big money.
That is when the server gets spicy. Players hide farms out in the wilderness and move stuff at night. Some people even pay strong grinders for protection.
It turns into economy drama fast. Shop owners get mad. PvP towns start paying attention. Even mayors get suspicious when someone gets rich too quick.

Sunset Retreat is an EU based seasonal SMP that stays close to vanilla but adds a few quality of life extras.
It is for players 18 and up and it is whitelisted so the place feels more chill and mature.
The server runs vanilla plus features like VoiceChat mob and player heads Bedrock compatibility and Pl3xMap.

I found a hardcore SMP that is just vanilla survival but with hardcore turned on. It is not scripted and it supports cracked Minecraft.
You do not need an application to start. You just join their Discord and you can play.
This server has no rules so people can grief bases and kill anyone. There are only three maces on the whole server so it turns into a race to grab one and be the strongest.
