Warriors SMP is a small survival world that is all about pvp teams and hanging out for a long time. It is still in beta so it feels fresh and new and everybody is still figuring stuff out.
The server has an economy where you can sell stuff fast with a sell command and then spend your money or shards in a shop. There is also an auction house so you can put items up for sale or grab deals from other players.
You can set a home and teleport back to it which makes bases a lot easier to manage. There is random teleport that can send you to the nether the end or the overworld so exploring is pretty wild.
There is a leaderboard so you can see who is on top and there are bounties you can place on other players if you want to hunt or be hunted. You can also create teams so you and your friends can play together and fight other groups.
The server runs on version 1.21.4 and has both Java and Bedrock support. It feels like a good place for new players and creators who want to grow together and play for a long time.

I found this server called The New Dawn SMP and it is all about Vanilla plus survival. It feels like one of those Hermit style worlds where people actually build big bases and towns and work together a lot.
The server is on Minecraft 1.21.10 and it lets Java and Bedrock players play together. It uses very few plugins so it still feels like normal Minecraft but with a bit more polish and immersion.
The main stuff here is megabuilds towns trading and shared projects. People are really into creativity and making cool areas instead of rushing and quitting. The community seems pretty friendly and they want players who actually care about the world and want to stick around.
Rules are clear. No griefing no stealing and no toxicity. So if you like building and making stories with other players instead of just pvp this fits really well.
It is basically a Hermitcraft style server with economies big builds and a world that feels alive where players help decide what happens next.

Spark SMP is a fully scripted Minecraft server that is all about story action and big moments. It is made for people who like acting and roleplaying and telling cool stories together.
From what I see they want players who can follow a script but also improvise when things get wild. You need to be active and reliable because the story depends on everyone showing up and doing their part.
The server has unique storylines and events that make it feel like a show you are acting in instead of just another normal SMP. There are also giveaways for the members which makes it feel more rewarding to stay involved.
The community looks really friendly and creative. They are not just there to act and then leave. They also hang out together play pvp servers and other stuff and just talk and have fun. It feels more like a group of best friends who are making something cool together.

This server is called WithTheCat and it feels like a long running Minecraft home that is very focused on modded play. The community has been around for over 13 years so it is not one of those worlds that vanish in a week.
The server runs in Finland on a strong machine with a modern i5 and a lot of ram so it is clearly built to handle big modpacks. Right now it hosts NeoTech Reborn Vault Hunters and also a custom pack called WithTheCat Second Edition that the community made themselves.
The players are a small but close group of people who like expert mode style Minecraft and long adventures together. They sound pretty mature and they really care about friendship and memories instead of quick drama.
To join they do not use boring forms. Instead they want you to write an introduction so they can actually get to know you. If nobody in the server knows you yet they ask for at least 300 words. If a friend from the community vouches for you it can be 50 words. They want to hear your name age and interests and what kind of person you are.
Overall this feels like a server for people who want a serious long term modded world and a tight community where every player matters and every base and project tells part of the story.

This is a small survival SMP where people just want to build and chill. The server is vanilla plus so it feels like normal Minecraft but with some mods to make it feel fresh.
The world does not reset so your builds can stay around for a long time. The server runs 24 7 on modern hardware so you can join pretty much any time.
There are land claims so your base is safe. PVP is allowed in the wilderness but not inside claims so you can choose when to fight and when to just relax.
The community is meant to be wholesome and family friendly. There are around 30 players total but only a few are active right now so new people can really help bring more life to the server.
You join through their Discord so they can whitelist you and share the modpack. The server is not cracked so you need a real Minecraft account.
