Mythvale is a new Java server that is launching soon and it is all about town wars that actually have structure.
I found that it is not trying to be random raiding chaos. Wars follow rules and you do not lose your land forever. Towns fight for money influence and dominance through SiegeWar. It also says there is no offline land loss so builders are not punished for having a life.
The map is custom built terrain and the world is meant to be permanent. They plan to expand later by adding new continents over time.
It has Towny claiming SiegeWar with scheduled and open conflicts a player driven shop economy balanced progression and vanilla combat with a simple beast kit. This is a geopolitical Earth server where towns fight and trade over real places on the map.
The big twist is that iron gold and diamonds only come from certain real life areas. Your town has to claim those zones if you want to mine them with open pit style mining and pull value out of the ground.
You can run player shops and sell what you mine. You also cannot legally grab every resource your town needs so you have to trade or make deals. As your town levels up it needs more kinds of resources for upkeep like iron early on then gold and even oil which is a custom drop in specific zones.
The economy gets wild since players can give loans to help each other start up. If you want war you can raise money with war bonds then lay siege to enemies to take resources and demand tribute. This server is ultra hardcore style so you do not heal naturally and if you die you are out. It has been running this way since Aug 09 2019 and the whole point is staying alive as long as you can.
There is a score system that keeps things competitive. You get 1 point per minute alive and 1 point per experience point you earn. Stuff like killing a skeleton gives points and big wins like killing the dragon give a massive score.
When you join you start in the Spawn Ship until you are ready to enter the world. You can hold a bone block to see the current top scoring players.
If you die you can try to earn a revive back to the Overworld by winning the weekly Sunday competition. Sundays at 11CT there is also a special team competition. Prizes can include a revive on the persistent ultra hardcore world or an in game advancement shout out.
The server also uses an Apocalypse DataPack with extra dangerous mob stuff. Zombies can turn players into zombies. Some skeletons get enhanced. Bats can bite and morph into an illusionist. Spiders can spin webs. There are ox heads defending pastures plus the lich and other threats like Herobrine and Medusa in the Nether.
