EchelonMC is a survival server that tries to stay simple and easy to understand. It uses a normal Minecraft install so you do not need any mods. The server feels close to vanilla but with systems that just make things smoother.
When you join there is a clean spawn hub with NPCs that explain stuff and show you different server systems. There is even a wilderness NPC that can throw you into a random area so you can start fresh without walking forever.
The server is all about survival and not breaking the normal game loop. Nothing is super overpowered and the world acts how you expect. Endermen cannot steal blocks so your builds are safer which is nice if you like building.
The commands are kept under control. There is a command controller that only shows the commands you are actually allowed to use. You do not get hit with a giant confusing list and most things feel natural inside normal survival.
The community is a big part of the server. There is a suggestion system where you use a book in game with the suggest command to send ideas. The staff checks these a lot so players can help shape new features and changes.
The server runs on Paper 1.21.1 and has live updating for many changes so it does not always need restarts. Overall it feels like a clean friendly place to play survival with some smart quality of life features.

This server is a hardcore SMP that tries to feel like those big Minecraft civilization experiments. It is called MCB and it is brand new and invite only. You do not just spawn alone on a hardcore world. You get invited into a clan and a family so you are part of a story right away.
Only players who are already on the server can invite new people. This makes the population grow kind of like real life and keeps out trolls. The community is meant to stay active and actually care about each other.
There are secret tweaks and mechanics added to the game to keep it fresh. There are no guides at all. Players are supposed to figure everything out on their own. If you pay attention and stay dedicated you get rewarded.
Most clans seem to be recruiting more members right now. If the instant join codes do not work you can still try to join by talking to current members and asking for their personal invite codes. There is also a wiki page that explains how joining and invitation codes work.

Vaelora is a Minecraft roleplay server set in a medieval fantasy world that got shattered and trapped behind a huge wall of light. The place feels mysterious and kind of dangerous and the whole point is to explore and slowly learn what really happened to this world.
The server is very focused on lore and story. There are custom quests that start out small and then turn into big world changing stuff. You can meet different factions like elven courts and merchants and other groups and your choices actually matter for how the story goes.
There are bosses and dungeons you can run alone or with a group. The combat feels important because of the unique class system where each class has its own abilities. There are also NPCs with real dialogue and custom enemies so it does not feel like normal vanilla Minecraft.
One really cool thing is a custom brewing plugin where you make drinks by following more realistic steps. It makes taverns and roleplay around drinks feel way more fun.
The world of Vaelora is always changing with events that affect the story. The server lets you play lots of different kinds of characters like bards knights mages or just villagers trying to rise up. It is a place where you slowly carve out your own legend in the middle of all the chaos.

This is a small SMP that feels really relaxed and friendly. The players are mostly adults in their 20s and 30s and they just like to hang out and play at an easy pace.
The server runs on Java 1.21.10 and it also works with Bedrock so more people can join. There are a few optional quality of life plugins but it still feels close to normal Minecraft.
Right now the group is working in the Nether. They already opened it and explored it together and now they are making an organized Nether highway to connect bases. They are also just starting to plan a Nether hub design.
The End is not open yet. When it does open the plan is to explore it together for the first time and chill in voice chat. The community is welcoming and drama free and they really want new chill players who enjoy playing together.

DeadMan's Land is a classic Factions server where survival is the main thing. It feels really tough and only strong players last for long.
You can join or create a faction and build up your own empire. Players team up form alliances and then fight other groups. Raiding and taking territory is a big deal here.
The server has custom events and the pvp is made to feel balanced. There is a lot of fighting and it is very intense because it really feels like kill or be killed.
If you like classic faction style survival and you want a place where people fight for power this server is made for that.

LavaNetwork is a new server that is in beta and it is focused on survival. Right now survival is the only gamemode so everyone is playing in the same world.
The setup is really clean and simple and it is not pay to win. You can vote to get rewards and there is a custom vote menu that looks cool. There are vote crates that give useful stuff when you open them.
You can earn Supporter and Supporter Plus ranks just by voting and staying active. You do not pay for these ranks at all they come from playing and supporting the server.
The server has easy navigation with menus and NPCs so you do not get lost. Since it is beta you should expect balance changes new features and other improvements while you play.
