This server is called EarthStonks and it is all about a big geopolitical money game on an earth map. You do not just build a house. You build a whole industry and a nation and try to control the global market.
There is a full bond market where nations can borrow money from other players. You can issue war bonds to raise cash and if you cannot pay it back the bank will take your land and unclaim your chunks. Other players can even buy your debt and try to push you into bankruptcy.
Mining is different here. Normal ore generation is turned off so x ray is useless. Instead resources match real world zones on the map. You look at the map to find places that have oil or gold or iron and then mine regular blocks there to get those special resources.
War is high stakes and connected to money. When you conquer a town half of their oil iron and gold stockpile gets moved to your capital. You start a siege by placing a banner and if the enemy town cannot defend it for three days the town becomes yours.
Right now the server is in open beta. The economy is fresh and the map is still open so new players can grab land and try to become the first big tycoon. It runs on version 1.21 plus and feels like a serious strategy world inside Minecraft.

You are not forced to only pvp. You can go independent and build empires or whole civilizations millions of blocks away.
