This server is called MinecraftOffline and it feels like a laid back survival world with a twist. The owners use a bunch of custom plugins so it does not feel like plain vanilla.
You can set a home and teleport back with simple commands so exploring is less annoying. There is also a teleport request system so you can warp to friends instead of everyone walking forever.
The big thing is lifesteal. When you kill other players you gain hearts and when you die you lose hearts. If you lose all your hearts you get banned so PvP actually matters a lot. New players get a one hour grace period where they do not lose hearts so they can settle in first.
There is a combat plugin that blocks commands while you are fighting and it punishes combat logging. If someone logs out in a fight they get replaced by an npc that can be killed and it drops all their items.
The server tries to block extreme speed cheats and also has a basic anti spam system for chat. It is not perfect but it stops the worst stuff.
There is an in game store where you can spend vote tokens on custom name colors and custom motds. The stats system tracks playtime kills and deaths and gives rewards when you hit certain milestones.
Players can also skip the night by typing one command so you are not stuck waiting for morning if enough people want to sleep.

Iperios is a modded server that uses the Allthemods10 ATM10 modpack version 5.4. The cool thing is that you can make your own nation on the server.
You get to choose your government style and set your own laws and ranks. If you do not want to make a nation you can just join one that already exists and play with other people.
To join you first get whitelisted in their discord. After that you get the server info and some starting details in the new player info channel.
When you finally log in a staff member meets you and helps you. They give you a beginner kit and guide you so you can start playing on the world right away.

Sunset Retreat SMP is a seasonal vanilla plus world for players who are 18 or older. It is made for people who just want to relax after a long day and play Minecraft in a chill way.
The server is based in the EU and it runs like a normal survival world with only a few quality of life additions. There is voice chat and extra mob and player heads. There is also a map you can check in your browser and support for both Java and Bedrock players.

CollideCraft Time Zero is a semi vanilla SMP that feels like you crashed into a broken dimension. There is light lore and weird rift events coming so it is not just a normal survival world.
The server has an active community with around five to ten players on and they use factions and proximity chat so you will hear people close to you and make alliances or enemies. A lot of the plugins are chosen by players so the community really shapes how the server feels.

This is a really tough hardcore SMP that is all about building a real civilization over time. It is not open to everyone. You need an invitation code to join.
Only people who are already on the server can invite new players. This makes the population feel more natural and keeps away random trolls. It also means that if you get in you probably care about the server and the story.
