Headrest SMP is a paper survival server that mixes chill building with real pvp and lore. The server runs on version 1.20.10 and has an active community that actually talks and plays together.
There is a safe zone at spawn where people can build shops and hang out. Players can use a simple voice chat mod to talk to each other so it feels more like everyone is in the same place.

PurpleSMP is a small survival server that feels really calm and safe. It runs the newer version of Minecraft so you can just chill build and enjoy the game without stressing about griefers or random pvp.
The server is focused on PvE and you can turn PvP on or off yourself with a command. Land claims keep your base protected and the staff log every block placed and broken so they can see what happened if someone tries to cause trouble.
There is mcMMO so you can level up skills and do fun things like faster tree chopping. You also get PlayerVaults so you have extra storage when your normal inventory is full. The server has a Bluemap so you can look at the world like a map in your browser.

This is a semi vanilla SMP that feels like a small friendly neighborhood. The world is pretty new and the server usually has around ten to fifteen people online.
Everyone seems really relaxed and people like building near each other. Neighbors are welcome if you ask first and players visit each others bases a lot. People trade items help with projects and share stuff when someone needs it.
