It is cross platform so different players can join together. The server is whitelisted so you have to apply first. It is built around trust and having a mature respectful community.

Rooted Realm is a fresh launch semi vanilla SMP on Java that is built for a long term world with no wipes. It is meant to be a chill adult community where people can settle in and keep their builds for the long run.
The rules focus hard on no grief and no theft so it feels safer to build. There is also absolutely no pay to win and they want to keep it that way.
Instead of using random teleport the server uses custom portals that take you to set locations around the world and back to spawn. Players use diamonds as the main currency and there is a shopping district called the market.

War is not required but it can happen through siege wars and planned conflicts that can change borders. You can try staying neutral but it comes with a cost so people still have to think about power and safety. Big moves can come from diplomacy the economy or conquest.
The economy is fully player made since there are no admin shops and no villager trading. Players run their own markets using VillagerMarket or QuickShop and groups can form trade guilds or merchant companies.
The overworld uses Terra generation so you get dramatic cliffs valleys rivers and forests that feel perfect for kingdoms and trade ports. There are also quality of life features like veinminer smart spawners AuraSkills and ClickMobs plus brewing and tavern culture with The Brewery Project and real horse genetics with BetterHorses.
