This is a semi vanilla survival server where the whole thing is about community economy and building cool stuff together. It feels like a normal Minecraft world but with a few helpful plugins so your stuff is safe and you can trade with other players.
The economy is all based on diamonds so people actually mine and trade instead of using random money numbers. You can set up player shops and use a shop menu to browse everything really fast. It makes trading feel simple and kind of addicting.
You can claim land with a golden shovel so nobody can grief your builds. The server is PvE and it clearly says no griefing and no keep inventory so survival still feels risky but your base is protected. They also use separate resource worlds so the main world stays clean while people go mining somewhere else.
There is a live world map you can look at in your browser which is super nice for exploring and planning builds. The server works for both Java and Bedrock so pretty much everyone can join and play together.
There are ranks and vote rewards you can earn just by playing and voting so you get perks over time without having to do anything crazy. The community seems friendly and they run weekly events so there is usually something going on if you like playing with others.

EverChanging SMP is a survival multiplayer server that always tries to feel new.
The cool thing is that every season the server changes the plugins it uses. One season can be about Lifesteal then another season can be something like Blitz or Infuse. Each reset turns the server into a different gameplay experience so it does not get boring.
The playstyle is close to anarchy but there are a few basic rules. You cannot grief spawn. You cannot camp spawn. You also cannot use hacks or exploits. Outside of that players can survive build fight and explore however they want.

This is a hardcore style server where you only get 5 lives.
Once people join they start forming gangs and groups pretty fast. Everyone is trying to stay alive and not waste their lives so it feels tense but also really fun.
The community is small so everyone kind of knows each other. That makes it feel more personal and it is easy to remember people. A lot of the fun comes from the players and the drama between groups.
From what I can see the server is very entertaining and focused on survival with the 5 lives rule. If you like hardcore and tight communities this server is made for that.

This server feels like a medieval fantasy world inside Minecraft. It is called Mines and Monarchs and it is a mix of RPG and survival. You join through their Discord and when you enter the Minecraft world you have to choose a role and a job.
You can be an elf a dwarf a fairy an orc and more. Each race has its own abilities advantages and disadvantages. You also pick what you want to work on and that gives you more perks in that field. It feels like a proper RPG but still with normal Minecraft survival.
The server is very focused on roleplay and building. They accept any kind of player. You do not need to be an expert at roleplay or construction and they are not strict about skill. It sounds chill and welcoming.
There are quests you can do. You can take over territories and put your own rules there. The RPG mods are translated so if you are not good at English you can still understand things. The admins and veteran players can help with any questions.

This server is running the Beyond Ascension modpack and it is all about war and factions and big fights. The world does not reset so everything you build and destroy really matters.
Players are supposed to build actual civilizations with other people. You make bases and towns and then you defend them or attack others. It feels like a long term world where every group tries to become the most powerful.
There is a special way to get a Create creative motor. You can either grind a huge amount of items like tons of large water wheels sturdy sheets steam engines and cosmilite ingots or you can invite five friends to the community discord so they play and stay active on the server.

This is a pure vanilla anarchy server where the owner really wants no pay to win and no hacked clients. There are no kits and no land claims and no protection. Griefing and raiding and politics are all left to the players.
The world is hosted on a dedicated 12 core machine in Germany with 3TB of storage. It has daily backups and a strong anticheat so it is meant to last a long time and not get wiped every season.
You can join early on the fresh anarchy world and either bring a group or go solo. You can build a secret base or raid around spawn or just survive however you want as long as you follow the basic rules.
