I found this server called TBFMC and it feels like a classic survival world but with some smart systems to keep it safe.
The server is semi vanilla and it plays like normal Minecraft with no gameplay changing features. There are no teleports so players travel the world for real. There is an optional keep inventory rule if you want it.
The coolest part is that they use custom in house plugins for land claiming towns and a player mall. These plugins are made just for this server so they protect builds but still feel like vanilla. You use town commands for land and towns and the mall command for player shops.
New players get a one time random teleport to leave spawn and settle somewhere in the world. There is a help menu in a gui so you can always see the commands easily.
The community is focused on building real infrastructure like nether highways connected towns and shared community spaces. If you like survival with no shortcuts and a world that feels real this server fits that style a lot.

This server is called 5tarrock and it is a geopolitical world with survival gameplay. You can make towns cities or even whole countries if enough players join your side. The world is not friendly so teaming up is super important.
You can still play solo if you want. You can try being a trader a farmer a shipper or even a pirate. The map is huge and landmasses are far apart so you cannot just stay in one place and get everything. You need to explore trade or conquer other lands to get the resources you want.
The combat here is very different from normal Minecraft. Armor is not just a straight upgrade. Chainmail is better against slashing and leather is stronger and keeps you warm. This makes different regions feel unique instead of everyone racing to netherite.
There is a detailed temperature system but it is not super annoying. Things like torches and campfires keep you warm and if you are deep in caves the temperature does not bother you as much.
The world has its own story too. A comet hit the planet about 125 years ago and crashed into the ocean. It raised the water level by around 40 blocks and changed the coastline. The ecosystem and the mantle are messed up and still trying to balance. Because of that the future world might have some really dangerous events.

Stormy Lagoon SMP is a survival server that works on both Java and Bedrock.
I like how easy it is to join because you can play on your computer or your phone. It just feels like a simple place where people hang out and play survival together.
From what I can see the server is focused on being an SMP where you can chill and build and talk with other players. It does not try to be super complicated. It just looks like a normal survival world with a shared community.
If you want a place to play Minecraft with other people on both Java and Bedrock this server is made for that.

CaveMC Season 2 is a semi anarchy survival server where the whole overworld is one giant cave world. There is no normal surface at all. Everything is underground with custom world generation made by real Minecraft devs.
The server feels like vanilla but with extra twists. You explore massive cave biomes hunt for resources and try to stay alive in a really brutal world. It is semi anarchy so it is dangerous and only the most prepared players last for long.
There is also a new Wasteland Dimension. It is not just a small biome. It is a big new place with its own custom map mega structures and secrets. In the Wasteland you can fight for special powerful gear and use a unique currency that makes its own player economy and trade.
Season 2 comes with a new spawn area that sets the mood for the Wasteland and the cave only world. If you like hard underground survival PVP and exploring huge custom areas this server is made for you.

This is a new hardcore vanilla server that has been open for less than a month. It is made for players who like simple Minecraft with no extra stuff.
You spawn in a small safe zone with invis and regen so you can get ready and run from spawn. You also get a few starter items to help you survive at the start. After that it is just you and the world.
The server is true vanilla. There is no tpa and no home command. There are no ranks and no pay to win features. You just play normal Minecraft survival and everything you do you earn yourself.
The world is set to hardcore mode. If you die you get temporarily banned from the server so you really have to be careful and think before you fight or explore.
The server supports crossplay on the newest update. Both Java and Bedrock players can join on the current 1.21.11 and 1.21.131 versions.
