Nova Network is a new Minecraft server that is getting ready to open and it looks like it is all about survival and progression.
From what I see the main idea is long term survival where you slowly get stronger. You can run quests fight custom mobs and unlock cool custom tool skins. There are crates and kits that you work through so the gameplay keeps changing instead of getting stale.
There is also a factions system so players can team up and build bases together. Factions can claim territory compete with others and shape their own part of the world. It feels like they want both teamwork and competition at the same time.
The community is still growing and they are hyping up opening day. If you want to start from the beginning and grow with everyone this server seems made for that.

Campfire SMP is an 18 plus semi vanilla server for players who want a long term survival world. It is whitelisted and the community is small so people actually get to know each other.
The server is built to last with a no reset plan and a 20k by 20k world border that will grow with big updates. There is a diamond based shopping district nether highways a battle arena and even a Christmas area. People hang out in voice chat a lot and work on community projects or just talk and play other games.
The server runs on Purpur 1.21.9 and is self hosted 24 7 in Las Vegas with strong hardware. There are a few quality of life plugins and datapacks but it still feels like real survival. There is no tpa and no home command so travel and exploration actually matter.
The community is all adults mostly in their 20s and up and everyone is welcome as long as you are 18 or older and want a friendly long term SMP home.

This is a server called Rotten Block and right now they are inviting new players.
I found it through a form link so it feels like they actually pick who joins. That makes it seem more organized and not just random people.

Ballistic SMP is a Minecraft server that is all about intense pvp and mythic gear. The whole server feels like a big arena where the map is tight and every base location really matters.
The coolest thing here is the four mythic weapons and one mythic armor set. Each one is tied to an elemental guardian like air water fire and death. These items are rare and you do not just buy them. You have to earn them through quests events and combat so they actually feel special.
Pvp is the main focus so fights are based on skill timing and strategy instead of crazy broken gear. You can duel alone or fight in teams and the world border is 3000 by 3000 so players run into each other a lot.
The server has strong rules against griefing and stealing. Your base and stuff are protected so people can battle hard without the world turning into total chaos.
There is also a lot of lore. The story is about the four guardians and you learn more through quests hidden relics and special events. Some events drop loot from the sky and cause sudden fights. Other events are about the story or about getting fragments of the mythic weapons and armor.
The server opens on December 19th so the world and its story are just getting started.
