I found Dark Ages and it is a team based SMP with 30 players total. Everyone is split into teams of 5 and you try to build up your teams kingdom.
It stays pretty close to vanilla so it does not feel like a huge mod soup. Combat is changed with Better Combat so fights are a bigger deal.
To grow and defend your kingdom you use mods like Talhanations Recruits and Workers. There are also Siege Weapons and Small Ships plus Almiris Weapons so battles can get wild on land and on water.

CaveMC is a semi anarchy survival server with an enhanced vanilla feel. The big twist is the entire overworld is underground so there is no surface at all. It is all caves with biomes resources and structures everywhere.
Season 2 is a fresh start with new additions. Survival is brutal and you really have to be smart to make it.
There is also a new Wasteland Dimension opening on November 8th. It has exclusive gear to fight over giant mega structures with secrets and a unique currency that creates its own economy and trading. FrogSMP is a semi vanilla survival server that wants things to feel wild but still fair. It has pvp and some semi anarchy freedom but cheating and exploiting is a hard no. If you try hacked clients x ray or dupes you are getting clapped by staff.
The pvp rules are serious. You cannot log out to dodge fights and you cannot use the spawn command during combat. There is also a grace period at the start where pvp is off for the first 3 hours so people can get going.
Stealing is allowed only if you are a real enemy. If you are not an enemy then taking stuff is not ok. Griefing anything gets you banned so builds are not meant to get wiped for no reason.
It is Java only so Bedrock players cannot join. Netherite upgrades are disabled so diamond stays important. There is also only one mace for the whole server and whoever crafts it first is the only one who can have it.
You can set your spawn with spawnpoint and use a spawn command to save time. The vibe is goofy but staff still runs the place and they expect people to chill and not bully or lag the server with giant lag farms.GG.MINEWIND.NET New Server IPSemi-Anarchy Vanilla Survival No Resets
Anarchy Network is a semi anarchy survival server that started on October 11th 2024 and it is hosted in New York City. It is made to feel like real Vanilla Minecraft with very few changes and very few rules.
The server stays online all the time and it lets you join on Java versions from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.11. They say 1.21.10 is the best one to use so you do not run into problems.
The world is huge with a 2 million block border and there are no map resets. There is no pay to win and griefing and PvP are allowed. There is no teleporting except for a spawn command so players far away can get back near other people.
