It has a real economy where you grow herbs and sell them in a market and the prices change based on supply and demand.
Towns can run elections for mayor using ranked choice voting and your vote matters more the longer you have lived there. Your town government type also changes how the economy works.
If leaders mess up things can build up into rebellions that start on their own. If talking fails wars happen on weekend siege sessions and it has permanent consequences since the losing side can get occupied and taxed until they revolt.
