This is an 18 plus Minecraft server that feels really relaxed and friendly. Most players are in their 20s but there are older players too so it feels like a mature group.
The server is hard mode and semi vanilla. There are a few plugins but you can turn them off if you want to play totally vanilla. People mostly work on their own builds but everyone is close enough that having neighbors is normal if you ask first.
The rules are simple. No griefing. No stealing. No unwelcome pvp. It is about having fun building and surviving together. The community likes to trade help out and share items when someone needs something.
Every world they usually make a nether hub and a shopping district. This world is new so those are not finished yet but that is the plan again. It feels like a good place if you just want chill adult survival without drama.

So I found this server called GeoSMP and it is a new Vanilla Earth style world. The map is based on Earth and you can make your own towns and build up with other people.
The server is pretty fresh so you can get a nice start and not feel super behind everyone else. It feels really balanced and not pay to win and that makes it more fun to just play and explore.
The owner and staff worked really hard on it and you can kind of tell when you run around and see how everything is set up. They are trying to grow the community and want players of all ages to join and hang out.
If you want a chill Earth survival place with town vibes and a new world feel this server is actually pretty cool.

Enderrock SMP is a Hermitcraft inspired survival server that is made for players who are 21 or older. It has been running for about three months and the community feels active and really friendly.
The server is vanilla style with some small tweaks that you mostly will not notice. There is a permit based shopping district where players use diamonds as money so you can build shops and trade with other people.
There is a future game district planned plus optional community events and builds. All building styles and all skill levels are welcome so you do not have to be a pro to join.
This is a Bedrock server and you can play from any platform. Voice chat is optional so you can hang out and talk if you want or just chill and type.

This is a small semi anarchy Minecraft server made by a couple friends who just want more people to play with.

This is a newer survival smp where you can pick how you want to play. You can join the pvp scene or you can declare yourself peaceful. If you are peaceful then no one is allowed to kill you steal from you or grief your builds.
The world has a 4k by 4k border so everyone stays somewhat close. Minecarts are crazy fast and use the new experimental physics so rails are actually good for travel. The server has one player sleep so nights go by quick.
Some annoying stuff is disabled. Phantoms are turned off. Endermen and ghasts do not grief your builds. Ender pearls are disabled too. The server runs in hard mode so mobs still hit hard.
There are some cool survival tweaks. You can sit on stairs. Spawners can be picked up with silk touch. Amethyst buds can also be silk touched. The terrain uses tectonic and terralith world generation and all chunks are preloaded so exploration feels awesome.
There are rules about griefing and pvp with more info on the server. You have to apply to join since it is whitelist so it feels safer and more chill. It seems like a good place if you want a small survival world where combat is a choice and not forced.

Foggy Willows is a server for people who actually want real vanilla survival. It runs on the normal minecraft server jar and there are no datapacks or plugins at all.
There is no big spawn and no confusing stuff to read. You just spawn in the world and figure it out yourself. Players are expected to deal with their own social problems and play how they want.
You can build whatever you want and technical players are welcome too. The server is always on the latest stable vanilla version and it is self hosted on a machine that was built for it.
There are no donations and no world border. There are no plugins and no teleport or sethome commands. The game is set to hard mode and it is Java only.
If you want a simple raw vanilla world with all the normal quirks and challenges this server is made for that.
