Invictus SMP is a semi vanilla survival server that has been running since 2020 and it is now in season 11. The server has a chill and friendly vibe and the community feels really active.
The world is set to hard mode and mobs get stronger with a mob leveling system so it is more challenging than normal survival. It still keeps a vanilla feel because it uses a custom plugin pack that is not bloated and has simple vanilla style tweaks.
There is a live web map and player stats so you can see how the world is growing over time. The server also runs on a dedicated host with really high uptime so it is almost always online.
Players get fun extra features like brewing, fishing competitions and other community events. There are also small quality of life things like lockable chests, shooting stars and the ability to sit on chairs.
If you want a long running semi vanilla SMP with hard mode and a relaxed community then this server fits that style.

UneasyVanilla Semi Anarchy Survival
hardcore survivallawless vibesemi anarchysurvival adventureunexpected encounters
This server is called UneasyVanilla and it is a semi anarchy vanilla world. It tries to stay close to the original Minecraft vision and it has a world that is over four years old.
When you first join you spawn in a totally wrecked area. Spawn is full of lavacasts and grief which kind of looks like a maze. You have to escape this mess and then you can go explore and make bases anywhere.
The server mixes anarchy style freedom with survival gameplay. There are still some rules so it is not total chaos. The rules seem mostly about keeping the server fair and running well and stopping cheaters.
The staff are active and they focus on banning cheaters and protecting the performance of the server. Because of that the world feels dangerous but not ruined by hacks.
The community feels like a tight group that likes a relaxed but risky survival style. You can find random encounters with other players while exploring. You can team up with people start alliances or just test your survival skills and build big projects.
If you want a long running vanilla world that is rough around the edges and not super safe UneasyVanilla is made for that.

HoneySMP Great Elytra Race Tonight
chill survivalFair Playplay to winprecision flyingskill-based
This server is running a big elytra race called The Great Honey Glider Race. The whole thing is about flying skill and speed and not about pay to win.
Everyone gets the same elytra and the same fireworks so it is totally fair. There is a huge sky obstacle course with tight turns risky dives and checkpoints. You have to fly through every green particle ring and try not to crash because if you hit something you lose your momentum.
The winner gets Honey Pass Premium which unlocks the paid track for the next battle pass and it is worth a good amount of Honey Credits. You can win cosmetics keys and other rewards just by flying fast and playing well.
The server itself is called HoneySMP and it is a community first survival server. It has custom features like Key Forging Vein Miner and a play to win style economy instead of pay to win. It feels like they care about fair gameplay and fun events for everyone.
