I have been watching this upcoming server and it looks pretty promising. It got delayed a few times but it sounds like it is finally finished. They are just waiting on the server host to fix something before it goes live in a couple days.
From what the devs have shown the server is a modded survival RPG with gear progression. It has custom gear and custom bosses. Ethria is a server where the devs keep changing up Minecraft with their own custom plugins. I saw stuff like helmet items that act like light blocks and a wooden rake that can make item frames invisible and also lock them.
The main vibe is CityBuild with lots of extra systems like real life style spawns teleport elevators skill leveling big doors perks clans chat emotes and even pet catching that feels like Pokemon. The cool part is ranks are earned by playing and not by paying.
There are a bunch of places to play like a farm world Nether End a separate farm server and a Purge world with no rules. For games and events it also has things like Bedwars Hunger Games Murder Mystery Mob Arena Bowling Mini Golf OneHitChamber and Quacke Arena.

Halcyon is a Lands PvP server that is going for an immersive medieval feel while still running the latest vanilla Minecraft 1.21.11. It is based in Australia and it has players from Europe the Americas and Asia. It usually sits around 10 to 30 players online.
The world is handmade and the rules are set up to make survival harder and slower. It tries to stop a lot of meta stuff and instead rewards teamwork creativity and players who specialize in jobs. Winning is more about bravery deals and building big cities and fortresses plus getting other players to join you.
Travel matters a lot here because there is no teleportation. People end up making roads waystations and even secret underground rail lines. Some crops and saplings only work in certain biomes so trading becomes important and different areas start to feel unique.
You do not have to follow strict lore. Players can just start like normal and see what stories happen as the server grows. I found a server called StatesMC and it is a SMP that is all about PvP and factions.
The big thing here is a gun system that works without mods. People can build up and then go fight other factions and get into politics too.
It is made so you do not have to grind a ton. Factions can spend more time building shooting people and doing the fun parts.
