This server is called BareBonesMP and it has a special Hardcore Plus world with custom health. Every time you die you lose one heart and you can go all the way down to only 3 hearts. To get your hearts back you have to craft a Heart Crystal with an echo shard and a diamond block.
If you use a Heart Crystal you restore one heart and you can even go above the normal 10 hearts up to 20 hearts. These extra hearts are temporary. When you take damage the extra hearts disappear first and you will not get them back unless you use another Heart Crystal.
The Hardcore Plus world is basically vanilla. There are no teleport commands and all normal block damage is turned on like fire spread and creeper explosions. Stealing and griefing are not allowed so it is not an anarchy server.
There is also a main vanilla SMP server and the community has been around since 2019. People say it feels like a classic hermitcraft style server and it is whitelisted and close knit. There are community events every weekend and mayor elections every month.
The server has an active discord and a dedicated machine so it runs with no lag. It uses a few quality of life plugins like sleep tweaks and leaderboards and stuff like that. There is optional proximity voice chat and in game chat is linked with discord so people can talk even when they are not online in Minecraft.

This is a brand new server called MaineServers and it feels like a real fresh start. When I joined there were no stacked players with everything already taken. You actually get to be one of the first people to play.
The server is a growing network with different game modes. There is Earth Survival where you play on a 1 to 1 scale Earth map and can try to claim your favorite country before someone else does. There is a normal Survival mode that feels like classic Minecraft with a new clean economy. There is Lifesteal where every heart matters and PvP is more intense. This server is all about the Create mod and making it the main thing you use. The owner really hates easy infinite farms so the whole pack is built so you actually have to think about every machine you place. There is no instant iron or gold farm that just lags the server and throws everything away.
The whole idea is to slow down speedrunners. People cannot just beat the dragon right away and run around in full netherite on the first day. You have to plan your cogs and shafts and stress really carefully so your factory actually works without wasting stuff.
It is also kind of like an origins style SMP but without super annoying picks that break the normal game. It is more about building a new game loop where Create is the star and you push through challenges little by little instead of blasting through.
