This is a brand new vanilla survival server on Java and it feels really clean and simple. You just join and play with other people who like normal Minecraft.
The server uses land claim so you can protect your base and builds. That makes it a lot less scary to build big stuff because random people cannot just break everything.

Rattata SMP is a vanilla style server that is meant for players who are 18 or older. It is run on Paper and it lets both Java and Bedrock players join so more friends can play together.
The server tries to stay as close to normal Minecraft as possible. There is no teleport command and no special loot tables and no custom world generation. It runs on hard difficulty and has a live map and 33 percent player sleep and an optional simple voice mod.
The rules are really basic and easy to understand. Do not grief and use common sense. The community is meant to be mature and chill and focused on building and playing together.
The server is whitelist only and it started on December 26 so the world is still pretty fresh and there is room to grow and build a new community.

I found this server called CaveMC and it is kind of wild. The whole overworld is underground so there is no normal surface at all. You just live in a huge endless cave world with biomes and resources and structures all under the ground.
It is semi anarchy so things feel pretty brutal. Survival is really hard and you have to be smart to stay alive. People can fight and it feels dangerous all the time.
Season 2 just started so everyone gets a fresh start. They also are opening something called the Wasteland Dimension. It is like a giant new place with special gear to fight over and big mega structures to explore and loot.
The Wasteland has its own currency so players can make a new economy and trade. There is also a new spawn area that fits the Wasteland theme and the whole dimension uses custom generation so the map looks different and has special features.
If you want a tough underground world and a crazy new dimension this server is made for that.

Origin SMP is a survival multiplayer server that feels like a living story. It runs on the latest 1.21 Java version and uses lifesteal so every fight actually matters. When you lose hearts it feels risky and when you win a fight it feels huge.

PeaMC is a pure survival server that feels like old Minecraft. There is no teleport command and no land claims so you actually have to travel and explore the world. It feels a lot like singleplayer but with other people around you.
The server is crossplay so both Java and Bedrock players can join on versions from 1.7x up to 1.21.11. There are teams you can form with friends so you can build bases and travel together. PvP is allowed so you do have to watch your back but it is not a full anarchy server.
The community is pretty chill and friendly. The owner and mods are active both in game and in Discord so the server does not feel abandoned. There are not a bunch of in your face plugins so the gameplay stays close to classic vanilla survival.
There are clear rules. Hacks and exploits are not allowed. Harassment and slurs are not allowed. Griefing and stealing are not allowed either so you cannot destroy other bases kill pets or loot peoples chests. Spawn killing is also not allowed. Destructive PvP like using respawn anchors end crystals or minecart explosions is banned because it can ruin builds.
If you like walking everywhere exploring naturally and building in peace while still having some PvP danger PeaMC feels like a good fit.
