Ballistic SMP is a semi faction style Minecraft server that is built around combat and lore. The whole idea is that there are four special weapons and each one has its own abilities and its own story. There is also a unique armor set that is connected to those weapons and to the lore.
The server is trying really hard to be fair. They say there is no pay to win and they want a cheater free environment. It is meant to be a well run server that feels unique and not like every other copy paste SMP.
Right now the world is a 3k by 3k map and that might change later. There will be admin run events so players have stuff to do besides just grinding. Because the server is not open yet everyone who joins at the start will be on the same level and nobody will be super stacked already.
There is no set way you have to play. You can follow the lore and get into the story of the weapons and armor or you can just build the biggest army you can and try to rule the map. They are looking for about ten more players to start the SMP so it should feel like a tight small community.

This server is called Crunchies Events and it is all about civilization style Minecraft.
Players build nations and fight wars and make alliances. There is a lot of politics and long term stories. The whole point is that every choice matters and everyone helps shape what happens.
It is still competitive and can be harsh but it is not like those huge servers where you just get kicked out fast and never show up anywhere. Here every player has a part in the story even if they win or lose.
The server is already online and people are preparing and building the community. The big civilization event will start once they hit enough players on their Discord. They are looking for people who actually want to play and be part of the action not just watch.

The Valley Craft SMP is a new survival multiplayer server with a custom plugin and a really active community.
From what I see the server is focused on having fun together and growing fast. The world is pretty fresh since they opened only a few days ago so you can still start with everyone else and not feel behind.
They use an easy application system that is made to take like one to three minutes. You do not need to be a content creator to join which is nice. If you are a content creator there is a special role that lets you get in right away and start recording or streaming.
The community also likes to hang out on other servers like Hypixel and do events together so it feels more like a friend group than just a random SMP.
The server is planned to start around December 20th or 21st and applications are already open so people can get ready before it fully launches.

This server is all about Mutually Assured Destruction. It is a factions world where nukes are real and building is never truly safe. If you make a big base someone will probably try to erase it.
The whole server is focused on tech and power. There are reactors power grids and uranium processing. Radiation and advanced machines decide who wins wars. It feels like tech matters more than just having a big group.
Factions here have real consequences. You can claim land raid bases and launch nukes. Alliances are shaky and betrayal is expected. One big detonation can totally change the map.

The Pen is a classic old school prison server that feels like 2014 again. It is not OP and you actually have to grind for everything. You start with basic tools and leather armor and you work your way up through the ranks.
The whole prison is built around risk and reward. You have to mine your own ores then smelt them and walk through PvP zones to sell them in the commissary. There is no instant sell so you really feel the danger when you carry your stuff.
There are ranks like A all the way up to Parolee and Citizen. After you reach the top you can prestige for special rewards. You can also get a prison cell or a plot where you store items build things grow illegal crops and even make your own shop.
Guards play a big role here. Swords and potions are illegal so if a guard sees you with contraband they can fight you and even send you to solitary confinement for bad conduct. There are also quests you can do for money or special items plus custom fishing and parkour challenges around the prison.
The server has a bounty system and an auction house. You can put bounties on enemies and hunt other players or sell items to everyone. The vibe is grindy and tough but it really focuses on that old prison community feeling where survival and PvP actually matter.

This server is a survival world that feels really old school. It has griefing and pvp turned on so you are never really safe anywhere. The world is from 2014 and the owner says it will never be reset so every build and crater stays forever.
There are no cheats allowed like hacking or item duping. There is also no RTP and no TPA so if you want to go somewhere you actually have to walk or travel there yourself. It makes the game feel more real and kind of scary.
Players can say what they want in chat and you do not get banned for words unless it is illegal stuff. There are no chat reports either. Admins do not hover around you all the time so it feels more like real Minecraft and less like a babysitting server.
