I found this Minecraft server called Malgazar and it is a pretty chill vanilla style world. The server runs mostly vanilla with just a few quality of life plugins so it still feels like normal Minecraft.
There is a small community that feels really tight and people are nice and active. Players seem to enjoy building and surviving together and they want more positive people to join in.
The staff take moderation serious so griefing almost never happens. They watch over the server a lot and they even decided to unban some small time offenders and put them on a watch list so they get a second chance. If someone does bad stuff again they get banned for good.
The world is not tiny either. They recently expanded the Overworld Nether and End borders from about 4.5k to 11k so there is more room to explore and make bases.
If you just want a solid vanilla survival server with a good community and you like being a nice player this server fits that pretty well.

New Dawn SMP is a vanilla survival server that is built to last for a long time. The world is planned to run for about 8 to 12 months so you actually get time to finish big bases and towns instead of restarting all the time.
The server is whitelisted and uses an honor system so people are expected to be trustworthy. There is no griefing no stealing and no toxic behavior allowed. It is a friendly and mature community that still feels really chill. Players help lead projects and work together on builds and towns.
There is a diamond based economy with shopping districts gaming areas and minigame spots. The server uses Vanilla Tweaks datapacks and Armor Poser plus a timber plugin that makes chopping trees easier but still feels close to normal vanilla.
Players can join survival minigames and Minecraft events and there are also game nights for other games too. The Discord chat is linked to the server so people can talk whether they are in game or not.

This is a Bedrock nation war SMP that is all about the Napoleonic Wars. The world is a big map of Europe and the Near East and players control different nations.
The server uses line infantry muskets cannons uniforms and warships. There are custom balancing changes and regional crops so fights feel really planned out. There are over 25 cities and each one is tied to playable nations.
Wars are not random here. They are structured with real strategy and long term campaigns. It feels like a big ongoing war game instead of quick fights.
