I found this server called 99b99t and it is a new Minecraft anarchy world. There are no rules and no limits so players can basically do whatever they want. It feels like pure chaos mixed with hard survival.
The server runs on version 1.21.8 and it is always online. The difficulty is set to hard so mobs and everything else hit way harder. It is not really a friendly survival place. It is more like survive if you can.
They only use a few plugins. Player heads drop when you die and there are some basic essential commands. Other than that it feels really close to vanilla so players shape the server by building or griefing or fighting.
The world is brand new so there is still lots of space to explore. You can start a base or raid someone else or just wander around. The whole idea is true anarchy and every player decides how they want to play.

This server feels like old school Minecraft in a good way. It is a simple survival SMP where you just play the game and hang out with other people.
There are no weird gimmicks or crazy custom stuff. It is mostly about exploring building and surviving together. The community is meant to be friendly and relaxed so it is good if you just want to chill and play.
They also have optional proximity chat. That means you can talk to people who are near you in the world which makes it feel more like you are actually there with them.
There is a cool pixel project in game at a place called slash place. It works kind of like r place. You can put one block every 10 seconds and only wool blocks count. Everyone builds on the same canvas so it becomes a big team art thing. You can join in or just walk around and watch.

This is a Minecraft civilization server where they are trying to host around 100 players at once.

I found this server called EternalSMP and it is a simple survival world that feels like normal Minecraft. It is vanilla style so there are no crazy plugins or roleplay stuff.
The main difference is the world terrain looks better and there are more biomes. Exploring is a big part of it and the world feels fun to run around in.
You can make a team with friends build a base and trade with other players. People can fight and even have wars if they want. You are not allowed to grief bases but you are allowed to steal loot so you still have to protect your stuff.

Astral Swords SMP is like a hardcore PvP world where you only get one life so every move really matters. If you die you lose your base and your stuff and even the friends you were fighting with.
The server is all about intense PvP and risky fights and clutch escapes. There is a custom sword plugin that makes battles feel more special and cooler than normal Minecraft.
There are a lot of events that give mythical items so active players have things to do and goals to grind for. Nothing here is scripted so everything that happens is from the players and the chaos they make.
